    Obituary:
    Derek J. Schnell, age 28, Grand Chute, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Derek was born in Manitowoc, on July 12, 1987, to Terry and Debra (Wasmer) Schnell. He attended Hortonville High School and graduated in 2006. Derek enjoyed playing basketball in high school, but his true passion was playing high school football. Derek attended Fox Valley Technical College and graduated with a degree in Automotive Technology. Following graduation, Derek worked at AFS in Hortonville and then started working at the family business, Riesterer & Schnell, Inc. He was a 4th generation family member to work for the business and served as a Corporate Warranty Administrator. Derek loved spending time with his nephews building Legos, gaming and spending time up north at the family cottage fishing.
    Derek is survived by his parents; sister, Tanya (Ben) Romenesko; nephews and Godsons, Brayden and Kaleb; paternal grandmother, Lorraine Schnell; maternal grandmother, Shirley Wasmer; uncles and aunts, Diane (Leon) Thelen, John Schnell, Sandi (David) Cerutti, Jane (Steve) Pribek, Kay (Tom) Beilke, Tom (Chris) Schnell, Joe (Sara) Schnell, Rick (Carla) Wasmer, Vicky (Bob) Heberlein, Joe (Kathy) Wasmer, Jerry (Nancy) Wasmer, John Wasmer and Butch (Denise) Patzke. Derek is further survived by special friend Hannah Welk, numerous cousins, relatives, friends and two dogs, Diesel and Gizmo.
    Derek was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Leroy Schnell; maternal grandfather, Joseph Wasmer; uncle, Michael Wasmer and aunt, Mary Jo Wasmer.
    A funeral service for Derek will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2016 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (105 N. Olk Street) Hortonville. Family and friends are welcome to visit directly at the church from 3-7 p.m.
    In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
    Derek our beloved son, we love you and are missing you, Mom & Dad
    We miss you so much and we will hold on to all the good times. You will forever be in our hearts, Tanya and Ben
    We will take care of your Legos for you, Brayden and Kaleb
