Family History Researcher:
Daniel, the sixth child of Daniel and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Lynch, was born 12 Mar 1851, near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on his parents' forty-acre farm. (Today that land is located near 124th and Layton Ave.) The family worshipped at St. Mary's Catholic Church, a parish still operating today, in Hales Corners, Wisconsin.
As with many rural residents, Daniel worked most of his life as a farmer. When he was fifteen, his father sold the Milwaukee farm and, with the proceeds, purchased a larger homestead (120 acres) in the Green Bay area. Daniel stayed on that farm in Holland Township, Brown County, with his parents and siblings.
On 2 June 1883, he married Mary McDaniel, and they started a family. Eleven of their children were born there, another in Powers, Michigan (where they moved around 1900), and the youngest in North Dakota. His father died in 1891, and ownership of the farm fell to Daniel. Six years later, he sold the farm, following his brother Patrick, to Powers, Michigan (in the Upper Peninsula, just across the Wisconsin-Michigan border).
By 1903, Daniel again moved his family, this time to Havana, North Dakota, following another brother, John & John's wife Hanora. Daniel bought a farm in that area, and worked it with his children. Around 1912, he purchased the Merchants' Hotel (Havana) from the estate of his brother John, and operated it until the end of World War I, when Daniel's son John took over. Around 1926, he retired because of health, moving in with his eldest daughter, Elizabeth Kings at her home in Lidgerwood, North Dakota, where he passed away in 1930.

Fatally Hurt When He Slips on Ice Kaukauna - Daniel McCabe. 54, 231 Doty street, died at 6 o'clock last night as a result of a head injury suffered in a fall at his home yesterday morning. McCabe had backed his car out of the garage and slipped, hitting his head on the ice. as he went back to close the garage doors. Born in Lawrence in 1885, McCabe came to Kaukauna 25 years ago. He was employed as a carpenter by the United States government. Survivors are the widow: two daughters, Lorraine, Kaukauna: two sons, Howard, Kaukauna: his mother, Mrs. Abigail McCabe, DePere; three brothers, John, Patrick and Peter, DePere: and four sisters Mrs Jack Ahasay and Miss Marthc McCabe, DePere; Mrs. John Geencn. Kathleen "Reddy" Duckett Kathleen Duckett, age 90, of De Pere died Monday, October 27, 2003, at a local nursing home. Kathleen was born December 9, 1912, in Kaukauna to the late John and Mary (McCabe) Ahasay. She worked at Royal Cleaners as a silk finisher for many years. Kathleen enjoyed baking, especially for her neighbors.
She is survived by her brother, Robert and Ruby Ahasay of De Pere; sister Phyllis and John Early of Allouez; sisters-in-law, Kay Ahasay, Tudy Ahasay, both of Green Bay, Arileen Duckett, Helen Duckett, both of De Pere; nieces and nephews and special friends Carol Knuth and Teri Van Enkevort. Age 90, of Allouez passed away Saturday morning June 25, 2005 after a short illness. She was born November 25, 1914 in Kaukauna to the late John and Mary (McCabe) Ahasay. Phyllis moved to De Pere as a young girl and lived there until she married John Early on September 2, 1963 at St. Francis Xavier Church and moved to Allouez. Helen worked for Wisconsin Telephone in De Pere as an operator; by the time she retired she was the chief operator. After retiring from the telephone company she worked at St. Norbert priory. She and John enjoyed flower gardening and golfing. Phyllis also cared for her mother in law Grandma Early. Phyllis and John were charter members of Resurrection Catholic Church in Allouez.
Survivors include her husband John, one brother Robert (Ruby) Ahasay of De Pere, two sisters in law; Rosella Hailey of Lewiston, NY. and Florence Ahasay of Green Bay. ?Our beloved Aunt Figo is survived by numerous nieces and nephews?.

Robert E. Ahasay, 94, De Pere, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died Friday, February 19, 2016, surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born on September 8, 1921, in Kaukauna to John L. and Mary (Mc Cabe) Ahasay.
Bob graduated from De Pere High School and spent his entire life in De Pere. On September 28, 1946, he married Ruby E. Kolb at Old St. Joseph Church on St. Norbert College Campus in De Pere. During WWII, Bob served in the U.S. Army. He was a proud veteran and a member of the American Legion #230 and De Pere VFW #2113. Bob served on the De Pere Police Dept., retiring as a detective after 25 years. He was a hardworking man who was a whistling virtuoso, known for his quick wit and one liners.
Bob was an avid golfer and worked as a Golf Pro at Town & Country. He taught many people to golf. Bob was instrumental in the development of Hilly Haven Golf Course. After his retirement from the Police Department, Bob had a second career at Broadway Chevrolet, where he worked well into his 80s. Bob loved cars and driving.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby, whom he worshipped, six daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ahasay, Maureen "Preena" Laughlin, Sarah "Lynn" Amundson and her special friend, Frank Gretzinger, Colleen "Coco" and Tom Gatske, Kathleen "Kelly" and Bob Hart, Melinda Ahasay; seven grandchildren, Tricia Amundson, Eric (April) Amundson, Tara (Travis) Irish, Kayla (fiancé, Ben Valley) Hart, Molly Gatske, Mandy (Patrick) Severson, Daniel (fiancée, Katie Sullivan) Ahasay; two great grandchildren, Logan and Ella Irish and Ruby Marie Severson, who will be born in April; one brother-in-law, John Early; one sister-in-law, Florence Ahasay. He is further survived by Ruby's family, Eugene Kolb, Lloyd (Bev) Kolb, Darrell (and his special friend, Kathy) Kolb.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Early, Kathleen (Jim) Duckett, Ruth (Don) Kolb; four brothers, Clem (Kay) Ahasay, Cliff Ahasay, Tom (Toni) Ahasay, Bill Ahasay. Doreen "Sweet Pea" Sendzik, 93, passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Ron Hietpas, on Thursday, July 17, 2009, surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Patrick and Ella (Sullivan) Mc Cabe was born July 5, 1916, in the Town of Lawrence. Doreen's mother died when she was 16 and she raised her seven brothers and sisters. She attended Nicolet High School. Doreen married George Vande Hei at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Wrights-town, and he preceded her in death October 1, 1967. Doreen married John Sendzik on February 10, 1978, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Green Bay. He proceeded her in death on March 14, 2000.
Doreen was a past member of St. Boniface Christian Mothers and a parish member and choir member at St. Jude Catholic Church. She was a loving mother who enjoyed traveling, canning, and baking.

Robert "Bob" J. McCabe, 83, was called to heaven on Wednesday morning, March 17, 2010, at a local nursing home. Bob was born June 15, 1926, in the town of Lawrence, a son of the late Patrick and Helen (Sullivan) McCabe. On Nov. 19, 1946, Bob married Delores VandeHei. She preceded him in death on Nov. 20, 2009.
Bob proudly served his country during World War II from 1943 to 1947, enlisting at age 17 in the U.S. Navy. He was stationed at Patuxent River Navy Base in Maryland. He flew targets for gunnery practice for Navy pilots. Bob worked for Proctor & Gamble as a machine operator for over 40 years. Bob was involved in his church and was a devoted Catholic; he served as an usher and lecturer for St. Joseph Church and Our Lady of Lourdes. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, camping, and having family get-togethers. In retirement Bob worked with his wife Delores at the Union Hotel in De Pere.
Bob is survived by his children: Thomas (Sue) McCabe, Linda (David) Neuser, Kay (Nick) Moore, Dean (Debbie) McCabe, Patrick (Cindy) McCabe, Michael McCabe, Mary (Thom) Hodkiewicz, Randall (Linda) McCabe; twenty-four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren. She married Jack Chambers on June 15, 1954, at St. Joseph's Church, De Pere, Wis. Florian taught for 39 years as an elementary teacher and prior to her retirement was a reading specialist.

Mary A. Geurts, age 92, of Appleton, passed away at her home on Friday, September 12, 2014. Mary was born on December 29, 1921, in The Town of Lawrence, to the late Peter and Emma(Bougie) McCabe. She married Ivo Geurts, on September 9, 1944, in Wrightstown.
Mary served as President of the Ladies Aid of St. Joseph Catholic Church in 1976, worked in the hot lunch program in the school and was a communion distributor, voluntered at the Community Blood Center and helped at the Yellow Brick Road Program at Appleton Medical Center. She also belonged to the Crafty Ladies at St. Joseph Catholic Church and is a member of the Catholic Daughters.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Ivo; her children, Gary (Joan) Geurts, Ken (Dianne) Geurts, Denise (Dale) Skuldt, Michael (Ann) Geurts, Nanette Geurts, John Paul (Robert) Geurts; her 14 grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; her sisters, Beulah Gurnee, Audrey (Harold) Deprez, Patricia O'Keefe and Maureen (Vernon) Weyers; and her brother, Vincent McCabe. BERNICE A. STADLER Black Creek Age 76, died Wednesday, August 11, 1999 at the Outagamie County Health Center. Bernice was born March 23, 1923 in Freedom, daughter of the late John and Ella (McCabe) Geenen. She was married June 4, 1946 to Ronald Stadler and he preceded her in death on August 11, 1999. Bernice assisted her husband, Ronald in farming on the Town of Ellington farm most of their married life, and was an avid vegetable gardener, floral gardener and had a great raspberry patch, and was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Mackville. She is survived by her son, Gary (Barb) Stadler, Appleton; three daughters: Bonnie (Wes) stevenson, Sr., Menasha; Joan (Richard) Klika, Menasha; and Pati (Jerry) Milheiser, Vernon, Connecticut; seven grandchildren, Eric and Andrea Stadler; Wes Jr., and Chris Stevenson; Trish Klika; Tony and Casey Milheiser; and by two great-grandchildren: Tyler Stevenson and Samantha Klika; two brothers: bob Geenen, Kaukauna; Don (Carol) Geenen, Appleton; three sisters: Coletta Bauer, Appleton; Mary (Floyd) Griesbach, Appleton; and Teresa Kemps, Kimberly. Bernice was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Marge (Louie) ... John Geenen, two brothers-in-law: Rollie Bauer and Ernie Kemps and a sister-in-law Sally Geenen. The Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 14, 1999 at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, State Highway 47, Mackville, with the Rev. Charles Brooks officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7:30 p.m. Friends will also be received at the church on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

Kimberly - Teresa Catherine Kemps, age 91, passed away on January 16, 2018 at Brewster Village, Appleton, Wisconsin, surrounded by her family. Teresa was born on January 9, 1927 in Freedom, Wisconsin, to John and Ella (McCabe) Geenen. She was married to Ernest John Kemps on September 10, 1949. They had five children and resided together in Kimberly, Wisconsin until his death on April 4, 1974.
After Ernie's death, Teresa began a long career at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She retired from St. Elizabeth's in 2007. In retirement Teresa served as a bailiff in the Outagamie County Court system and as a volunteer at St. Elizabeth's. Teresa was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kimberly and was deeply involved in the Cursillo as an organizer and mentor and frequently gave testimonials to those attending.
Teresa is survived by her children, Janie (Jim) Kinder, Karen (Jim)
Wesolowski, David (Joanne) Kemps, Kathy (Bob) Kemps-Mitchell, and Steve (Laurie) Kemps. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jason Evers, Jennie Evers, Trevor (Juliana) Wesolowski, Stephanie Wesolowski, Andy (Stacy) Kemps, Tim (Lisa) Kemps, Melissa (Brad) Zuleger, Matthew (Jacquie) Merckx, Kacie (Jon) Niemuth, Johnny Kemps, and Sam Kemps.
She is further survived by her eleven great-grandchildren: Macie Jane Sisk; Cordelia Wesolowski; Reagan, Natalie and David Kemps; Evan and Alex Kemps; Zachary and Madelyn Zuleger; Kinley Niemuth; and, arriving soon, baby Merckx.
Teresa is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Geenen and Donald (Carol) Geenen.
She is also survived by her husband's family, Lucille Kempen, Irene (Harvey) Van Deraa, Gerald Vanderloop, Marlene Green, and Judy (Don) Shaw. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents John and Ella Geenen; her sisters and their spouses, Coletta (Roland) Bauer, Margie (Louis) Kohler, Bernice (Ronald) Stadler, Mary (Floyd) Griesbach; two brothers, Frank Geenen and John Geenen; and a sister-in-law, Sally Geenen. She was also preceded in death by members of her husband's family, Marvin Kempen, Laverne VanderLoop and Charles Green.
Visitation will take place at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 620 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly, Wisconsin on Monday, January 22nd from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 AM with Monsignor Jim Vanden Hogan officiating. Private interment at Holy Name Cemetery.

Simon, Marian J.Marian J. Simon, of Kimberly, age 75, passed away Friday, August 27, 20 04 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton following a brief illness. Mari an was born in Beloit, Wisconsin on November 7, 1928, daughter of the la te James and Frances (Bartman) Hoolihan. She married Paul Simon at Sacr ed Heart Catholic Church in Appleton on April 24, 1948. As a young woma n, Marian worked at the H.C. Prange Company, as well as at Sears in Applet on. Later, she enjoyed tending bar at Steady Ed’s in Kaukauna. Marian lov ed angels, and over the years collected countless angels. She enjoyed trav el, spending winters in Florida, and following the Green Bay Packers. S he was a deeply religious woman who enjoyed her many visits and prayers wi th various priests and sisters. Marian will be remembered as a loving wif e, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her six children: Sharon (Steve) Schedel, Susan (Mike) Lecker, Sandy (Don) Steffens, Charles Foster, Sally Fusco and Patricia (Joe) Lecker; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; two sisters: Luanne Nelson and Patricia (Bill) Boyle and numerous nieces and nephews.

Obituary:
A beautiful singing voice joined the choirs of angels with the passing of Marilyn VanderPas, 71, of Little Chute, on Thursday, September 19, 2013, following a pedestrian/vehicle accident last Tuesday. Marilyn, daughter of the late Nick and Rose VanderPas, was born on August 15, 1942, and was a lifelong Little Chute resident.
Marilyn worked at several positions during her lifetime, including faithfully serving as a caregiver for her parents. For many years, her passion was singing at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. Her angelic voice could be heard during weddings and funerals as well as when she served as a song leader and member of the Good News Choir. She was also a member of the Cross and Crown Prayer Group and the Auxiliary Unit #258, Little Chute.
Marilyn is survived by her brothers: Tom (Joyce), of Little Chute; and Dan (Mary) VanderPas, of Appleton. Other survivors include sisters-in-law: Betty VanderPas and Barb VanderPas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Patrick and Jim; her nephew, Tod VanderPas of Weyauwega, who died last June, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral Mass and celebration of Marilyn's life is planned at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating and fellow members of the Good News and Resurrection Choirs leading the singing. She will be buried next to her parents at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
At her request, Marilyn participated in the UW Organ and Tissue Donation program.
The family offers special thanks to the compassionate treatment Marilyn received from police and medical personnel last Tuesday, especially the trauma team and clergy at Theda Clark Medical Center.
Also, we owe a debt of gratitude to the St. John parish community and other Little Chute residents for taking Marilyn under their wings for so many years.

Dan "Hoolie" was born on June 28, 1952 to Richard & Mary Jo Hoolihan, in Appleton, WI. "Hoolie" was a graduate of Kimberly High School and the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh. He lived in Kimberly and Appleton, WI until 1992 and then moved to Minneapolis, MN. Hoolie's longtime career was with Secura Insurance, until retiring in May of 2013.
"Hoolie" was preceded in death by his father, Richard Hoolihan (2008) and mother Mary Jo Hoolihan (2010). He is survived by three sons: Sam D. Hoolihan (Anne-Marie), Nicholas D. Hoolihan and Michael D. Hoolihan, one grandson: Harris J. Hoolihan, a sister: Kathy Keddell (Don) and fiancé: Marianne Plotnik.
