1904 Kaukauna Sun dated 6/17/1904 Mrs. John Bruehl, aunt to John Micke took sick and died. She was a sister to Peter and John Franks of Kaukauna, aged 54, services to be held at Sherwood, to allow for two sons living in Colorado to attend.
1904 Kaukauna Times dated 6/24/1904 The following relatives were here to attend the funeral of Mrs. John Breul and were guests of her brother Peter Frank and wife while in Kaukauna. Mrs Breuhls brother Henry Frank and wife of Nebraska, a sister Mrs Annie Gaitinger and her husband John of Milwaukee, Mrs, Breuhl's 2 sons John of Denver and Charles of Minneapolis, Minn. and a brother Jacob of Milwaukee.

Charles William Bruehl was born in Milwaukee in March 1869, the eldest son of John and Mary Frank Bruehl. He grew up on the family farm in Calumet County, Wisconsin and on July 4, 1891, married Bertha Kipp in Outagamie County. The couple moved to Minneapolis and had three children: Hazel; Edith; and Charles Jr. He was the only one of nine children to marry and have children. He worked as a machinist. His wife Bertha died about 1903 and he remarried a woman named Flora. Following her death, he lived with his daughter Hazel bruehl Hoover and her family. He died in Minneapolis on June 22, 1928.
