    Obituary:
    EMIL FREITAG, 72, Forest Junction, retired merchant and town of Brillion assessor for more than 30 years, was found dead at 8:30 last night by relatives who came to visit him at his home. It was thought Mr. Freitag suffered a stroke and died in bed Thursday night.
    He was born at Wayside, Brown County, and lived there until the age of 23 when he lost his right arm in a saw mill accident. Mr. Freitag attended a commercial school in Naperville, Ill., and successively operated general merchandise first in Anselm, N.D., Chili, Wis., and Forest Junction. He was a member of the board of trustees of the Forest Junction fire department for several years. He was married to Mathilda Krueger of the town of Rockland in 1901 and she died thirty years later. Upon his retirement from the merchandise business here, he was chosen as assessor of town Brillion for a little over thirty years, retiring when Henry Able, present incumbent was elected in 1936.
    Surviving are the widow, the former Mrs. Kate Gauger of DePere, to whom he was married in 1933, and five brothers, William, Detroit; Herman, Wayside; Albert, H. R Freitag, Max, N. D.; Edward, Forest Junction. An adopted daughter, formerly Miss Ruth Luedke, now Mrs. George Manthey of Portage, attended the funeral with her husband.
    Funeral services will be Tuesday at the home of his brother, Edward with Rev. Philip Schneider in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    Edward H. Freitag, 81, died Thursday noon at his farm, home at Forest Junction of a heart attack.
    Born Feb. 27, 1873, in Brown County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Freitag, he was married to Pauline Haise at Wayside and they resided on the present farm since their marriage. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Forest Junction and served as a justice of the peace for the town of Brillion for many years. He also served as a member of the school board and the fire department.
    His wife died June 22 of this year and survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Viola Walker at home and Miss Ernestine of Milwaukee; and four grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held Sunday at the Forest Junction Evangelical United Brethern Church with the Rev. Theodore Jordan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
