    No funeral will be conducted for August B. Billig, 76, of Paradise, who died Wednesday in a local convalescent hospital.
    Born Feb. 3, 1909 in Minnesota, he moved to Paradise from Oregon in 1976. Billig served in the Navy for 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion and Retired Officers Association.
    He is survived by his wife, Laura of Paradise; a son, Bruce of Sacramento; three brothers, the Rev. Maynard of St. Louis, MO., the Rev. Cloud of Washington, MO., and Joseph of Wisconsin; two sisters, Sisters Laurentia Billig and Francis Mary Billig, both of Minnesota; and two grandchildren.

    Zita Josepha Britz Norman, 97, SERVICES: Visitation and funeral services were held Tuesday, May 30, at Guardian Angels church in Oakdale, Minn., and burial was June 2 in the Norman family plot in Virginia.
    Zita Josepha Britz Norman, 97, formerly of Virginia and West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2006 surrounded by family in Woodbury, Minn.
    She was born Zita Josepha Britz Feb. 19, 1909, in Roscoe, Minn., and came to Virginia in November 1935 as the new bride of Robert E. Norman, a Mountain Iron teacher and Virginia native. She spent most of her life in West Virginia raising five children, keeping up her home, an avid bridge player and a woman who could work magic with fabric. She and Robert moved to Chisago City after the death of their son Bill in 1988.
    She is survived by four of her children, Zita Marie (Don) Coburn of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Pine River, Minn., Robert (Pauline) of Los Angeles; John (Jane) of Madison, Wis., and James of Woodbury, Minn., and Bradenton, Fla.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; many local relatives, including brother-in-law Jack Norman (Dorothea) of Mountain Iron; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and sister, Rosetta (Don) Hanson in Coon Rapids.
    She was preceded in death by eight siblings; her husband; and one son

    It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Marcella Maria Britz on July 23, 2010.
    Marcella was born on October 5, 1915 to James and Frances (nee Heisler) Britz at Roscoe, Minnesota. Marcella devoted her life to helping others ? family and friends.
    Marcella leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory her loving brother Benno (Phoebe) of Portland, Oregon; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Britz of Muenster, Saskatchewan and Mary Britz of Middle Lake, Saskatchewan; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
    She was predeceased by her parents, James and Frances Britz and step-mother Rufina Britz; foster parents Pete and Lena Britz; five brothers: Edmond, Albert, Leo, Marcus and Paul; and one sister-in-law, Frances Britz. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
    Prayer service was in St. Peter's Parish in Muenster, Saskatchewan. Funeral mass was held on July 28, 2010 at St. Eugene Roman Catholic Church in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. Interment followed in Mabel Hill Cemetery.
    Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
    The family placed their trust with Coventry Funeral Services 862-4233.

Funeral services a re set for Friday 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family North Catholic Church with Fat her Joseph Marx officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Frien ds may call at the Plombon Funeral home from Thursday noon until the ti me of service Friday morning. The parish vigil will be recited 8:30 p. m. Thursday at the funeral home. A complete obituary will follow.

    Unknown newspaper unknown date; Jacob P. Michels, age 79, resident of 115 second Avenue, Stanley, passed away suddenly Tuesday evening April 11t h. He was born in June 2nd, 1892 at Woodville Wisconsin, son of Peter and Mary Michels. He came to the town of Delmar with his parents when he was a year old, grew there, and entered the U.S. Army in 1917, serving in World War I until 1919 with the 32nd Division. On October 5th, 1919 he was united in marriage to Albina Smasal at Edson Wisconsin. After their marriage he was a cheesemaker at the Arthur dairy at Cadott and then was a cheesemaker at the Clear Creek dairy. They move to Stanley in 1933 and he has lived there since,. He was a member of Holy Family Parish and Chippewa County Barracks 2905. He is survived by one son, A. (Bud) Miche ls of Green Bay, one of brother, Leo of Holcombe, four sisters, Hilda of P alo Alto Calif., Setta, Louise and Lenora, all of Los Angeles California, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1969, one daughter, Geraldine, three brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family North Catholic Church, Stanley with Reverend Joseph Marx officiating. Burial will be St. Mary's cemetery.

    Alois Michels, 1118 West Kam ps Ave., age 72, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, following a lengthy i llness. He was born March 26th, 1898 in Boyd Wisconsin. He was employ ed with the Appleton Machine Co. for 20 years until his retirement in 196 4. Survivors are his wife, Mary; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Junilla) Corr y, Menasha; one son, Nathan, Appleton; two brothers, Jake, Stanley Wiscons in, and Leo, Rice Lake; three sisters, Mrs. Leonora Karnasky, San Diego Ca lif., Mrs. Hilda Holland, Mrs. Setta Unruh, and Louise, all of Los Angele s; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
