    Schaefer, Linus J. 1120 Harrison Street KaukaunaAge 82, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2002 at the Appleton Medi cal Center. Linus was born in Kaukauna on May 16, 1920, son of the late Wi lliam and Mary (Kraus) Schaefer. He was employed at Giddings and Lewis f or thirty years, and later worked for the Kaukauna School District, retiri ng in 1984. Linus enjoyed fishing, gardening, hooking rugs, and woodworki ng of all kinds. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years: Frances (n ee Walker) Schaefer; four children: Edwin (Jeanne) Schaefer of Horseshoe B end, Arkansas; Terrance Schaefer of Green Bay; Nancy Schaefer of Kaukaun a; and Lei Ann (Michael) Lewis of Kaukauna; eight grandchildren: Chad Scha efer and his fiance Eileen Ludwig, Nicole (Scott) Heider, Heather Collet te - Van Der Aa, Patrick (Kathy) Schaefer, Mark (Sonya) Schaefer, Matth ew (Shoko) Wicke, Maria Lewis, and Bret Lewis; two great-grandsons: Ric ky Gasman and Paul Schaefer; a brother: Clayton (Pat) Vanden Broek. Lin us was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Henry Vanden Broe k, sisters Helen (Vince) Zacharias and Rita (Neil) Vander Pas, and a broth er Cletus (Elizabeth) Schaefer. The funeral liturgy for Linus will be he ld at 5:00 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2002 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURC H, 309 Desnoyer Street with Fr. Jim Lucas officiating. Interment wi ll be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home fr om 4 - 8 PM Wednesday and again at the church on Thursday from 4:00 PM unt il the hour of the service.
