My grandpa Jim was Edwin's oldest brother, even though G randpa always told us that he was adopted and that we would find not fi nd any family, there are 2 sisters, at least, as well. Jim had 4 chil dren - 2 sons and 2 daughters. My dad, Gerald was his second so n. I am interested in where my grandpa grew up before he got marri ed and moved to California. EMAILHello again, My father, Gerald HAWLEY, is the second son of four chil dren born to James Adrian HAWLEY and Veronica KAFFKA. My research shows that my grandpa James is the firstborn child of F rank Hawley, born 9 Nov 1882, son of Eugene Thomas "Jim" HAWLEY and Amel ia "Molly" KIESNER, and Bessie Belle LaPRAIRIE, daughter of Abraham LaPRAI RIE and Florence CHRISTIE. The copy of my grandfather's birth certificate dated 21 May 1906 sho ws that he was born in Stockbridge and Frank was employed as a butch er at the time. About two years ago, someone living in Wisconsin did some research f or me and mentioned Grandpa's brother Edwin, born in 1914 and two sister s, Irene and Barbara, with very few further details. In 1967, one of Grandpa's sisters came to visit Grandma Verna for t he summer, and she looked just like my grandpa, except she had a headf ul of curly hair. As I remember, her name was Florence.
