    Martin A. Dietzler
    728 W. Lawrence St. Age 80, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday after a short illness. He was born March 13 1885 in Darboy and had been a resident of Appleton most of his life He was employed at the Fox River Paper Corp. as machinest for 35 years prior to his retirement 10 years ago. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; the Holy Name Society; Third Order of St. Francis; the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and a member of the Eagles. Mr. Dietzler is survived by his wife Alma; one sister, Mrs. Laine Hass, Pensacola, Fla.; also nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, the cortege forming at 9:30 a.m. at the Brettschneider- Trettin Funeral Home, a nephew the Rev. Richard Manford will be the celebrant of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brett- Schneider-Trettin Funeral Home , after 3 p m Friday. Parish rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m., at the Funeral Home after 3 p.m, and the Third Order rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Dennis L. " Denny" Mereness, Kaukauna, age 86, returned to his heavenly home on Monday, January 23, 2017. His devotion and love for his family as well as his firm belief in God gave him peace as he slipped peacefully away surrounded by his loved ones.
    Denny was born in Kaukauna on September 22, 1930 to the late Lloyd and Isla (Hendricks) Mereness. He married Betty Hauck on May 31, 1952 at Holy Cross Parish in Butler, MN. He served in the Navy aboard the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier during the Korean War and was a member of the Kaukauna American Legion Post 41. Denny worked at Thilmany Pulp and Paper as a Head Beater Engineer until his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, building and fixing things and in Betty's words "he was a jack of all trades, anything that needed fixing he took care of." He was a perfectionist when it came to drywalling, a job that he maintained on the side during all of his years at the mill. He was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and the Knights of Columbus Kaukauna Council 1033.
    Denny is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty; children: Denise (Mereness) Lessor of Menasha; Cheryl Mereness of Appleton; grandchildren: Dennis Lessor, Danielle Veith and her husband Andrew, Steve Lessor and his wife Nicole, and Jessica Mereness. Denny also had six great grandchildren named Savannah, Alex, Mason, Brody, Jayden and Aristotle. Denny is further survived by his siblings: Lois Martin, Joanne Vohs and her husband Gary, Steve Mereness and his wife Betty, and brother and sister-in-law: Donald Hauck along with his wife Joyce, and Beverly Anderson. He also had many nieces, nephews, other relatives as well as countless friends who will miss him dearly.
    In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Mereness; and sister and brother-in-law: Dorothy Johnson and her husband Howard, and John Hauck.
    Visitation will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH - ST. MARY CHURCH (119 W. 7th St. Kaukauna) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Jerome Pastors will officiate. Military rites conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 will immediately follow. Committal St. Mary Cemetery.     Scott Alan Dietzler, age 52, of Kimberly, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 21, 2014. Scott was born on October 12, 1962, in Appleton to Jeff Dietzler and the late Jean (Ashman) Dietzler. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Food Service Specialist. Scott was well-known for his infectious personality, his terrific sense of humor and his distinctive laugh. He loved nature, the outdoors and especially enjoyed the time spent at his cottage on Little Sand Lake. Scott's faith in God was especially strong.
    Survivors include his father, Jeff Dietzler; his daughter, Melissa (Kristopher) Harper; his son, Michael Dietzler (Laci Holmes); his daughter, Michelle (David) Abreu; his four grandchildren, Danielle, Emma, Ariana and Adalia; his brothers, James (Mary) Dietzler, Todd (Amy) Dietzler and Perry (Arlene) Dietzler; his niece Ashley Dietzler and nephew Brett Dietzler; and his good friends Joan Moericke and Bernice Matthews. Scott was preceded in death by his step-son, Luke Mix.
    Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014, at the JANSEN FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 204 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Scott's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Southern Care Hospice and Affinity Health Care for their loving care. A memorial has been established in his name.
