McMunn, Mary "June",Mary "June" McMunn, 79, passed away early Thursday morning, Feb. 5, 200 4, at Century Oaks Living Facility, Wrightstown. She was born June 10, 192 4, to the late Arnold and Elizabeth Martin in New Holstein. She married J im McMunn Sept. 28, 1946, the couple was fortunate to have been able to ce ebrate 50 years together in 1996. In 1960, she and Jim moved their you ng family to Oconto, where they made a wonderful life for over 60 years. S he was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto, giving her time generous ly to both the school and church. She was also a member of the St. Anne 's Society, where she found some of her closest friends. June was a devot ed wife, mother and grandmother; her family was truly her greatest joy. S he also spent countless hours tending to her beautiful gardens and yard. A fter raising her children she and Jim entered their next phase of life, tr aveling. They discovered bus tours were the way to go and had adventures a ll over the country. In doing this they were able to make even more friend s, they truly enjoyed each trip they took. When Jim became ill in 1998, Ju ne turned her attention to him, caring for Jim until his death in Novemb er of 1999. His loss was very hard on her and in August 2000 she suffer ed a stroke. When it became clear that she would never return to her own h ome her family had the difficult decision of placing her at Century Oak s. She had her family close and received excellent care from a great staff .Surviving June are two children and their families, Kay (Jim) Zimanek, App leton and their two sons, Jason and Mark, Elgin, Ill.; and Michael (Donn a) McMunn and their three children, Sarah, Christina and David, all of App leton. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.June was preceded in death by husband, Jim; her parents; one brother, Dona ld and his wife, Elaine; two brothers-in-law, Jerome and his wife, Dolor es and Donald; and her mother and father-in-law, Leonard and Ann.Friends may call at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago St., Oc onto, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004. St. Anne's Society will ha ve a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and Wake Services will be held at 6 p.m. Visitati on will continue Monday at the funeral home from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The Funer al Mass will be held at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto, w ith Father David C. Ruby officiating. Interment at Oconto Catholic Cemeter y.June's family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the sta ff of Century Oaks, especially Carrie, Summer, Holly, Nicole, Pat and Mich elle. Also, there aren't adequate words to convey our thanks to Heartla nd Hospice, especially to Bill. We will never forget you.
