Obituary:
Lorraine Ann Grishaber, age 90, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at St. Joseph Residence in New London. Lorraine was born in Appleton on April 8, 1925. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick J. and Esther M. (Holzschuh) Schaefer and her loving husband of 39 years, Ervin J. Grishaber. Lorraine worked as a secretary for 20 years at The Institute of Paper Chemistry, retiring in 1963 when she became a full time mom. She was an active member at St. Bernadette Catholic Church and sang in the church choir for many years. Lorraine was devoted to God and His church, her family and many friends, and her team - the Green Bay Packers.
Lorraine will be missed by her two daughters: Christine A. Grishaber, Clintonville and Margaret A. (Scott) Olson, Marshfield; grandson, Josh; and her brother Norbert E. (Joan) Schaefer, Appleton. She was further survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she cared for as if they were her own.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, March 15, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2331 E. Lourdes, Appleton, with Father Donald Zuleger officiating. Friends and relatives may visit at the church on Tuesday from 2:30 pm until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Joseph Residence for the compassionate care given to Lorraine.
