    Van Lankvelt, Bernard H enryBernard Van Lankvelt, 77, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2006, at Theda C lark Regional Medical Center. Bernard was born Aug. 20, 1928, in Little Ch ute to John and Hendrica (Peerenboom) Van Lankvelt. He served his count ry in the Army during the Korean War. Bernie married his wife Janet (Backe s) in Jan. of 1954 in Appleton and together they had seven children. Bern ie owned his own television and appliance sales and service business, Inde pendent Electronics, in Menasha. He also worked at St. Patrick's Cathol ic Church in Menasha until his retirement. Bernie loved the outdoors, hunt ing, camping, fishing, skiing; he also enjoyed watching soccer, wood carvi ng and his daily long walk. Bernie was active in the Boy Scouts as we ll as the Girl Scouts for many years.Bernard is survived by his wife, Janet, three sons; Peter, Paul (Lynn), a nd James J. Van Lankvelt all of Neenah, four daughters; Rose (William) Mar tell, Calumet, Mich., Jean (Mark) Reed, Neenah, Julie DuBois, Neenah and S usan (William) Rolf, Appleton, 15 grandchildren; Anemone, Daniel, Peter, M ariah, Jennifer, Lisa, Erik, Sara, Amanda, Gabrielle, Damien, Kristy, Jame s, Luke and Henry. He is further survived by brothers, Henry (Laverne) a nd Peter (Lorraine) Van Lankvelt, all of Little Chute, Sisters Frances V an Nuland, Dorothy (Casey) Lamers, Margaret (Reiner) Depies, all of Kimber ly and Angela (Leo) Campbell, Hilbert; sister in law, Shirley Van Lankve lt and several nieces, nephews other family and friends.Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Philip, brother-i n-law Peter Van Nuland and beloved granddaughter Avalon Rolf.In lieu of flowers, the family will be establishing a memorial in Bernard 's name.The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of the police, fi re and EMT first responders, as well as the staff at Theda Clark's emergen cy department for their care of Bernie.Bernie was a kind and giving man, giving his time to various causes over t he years. Even in death Bernie continued his spirit of giving by being a t issue donor. Many lives were impacted by his final gift.Memorial services for Bernie will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2, 200 6, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Menasha, with Father Roy Geenan offic iating.
