    Wilz, Earl P.Earl P. Wilz, Appleton, age 91, passed away at his home on Thursday, Septe mber 29, 2005. Earl was born December 16, 1913 in Appleton, the son of t he late Edward and Katherine Wilz. He was formerly employed by Kimberly-Cl ark Corp. for 26 years retiring in 1976. Earl was united in marriage to Ka therine Smith on January 9, 1946, sharing 43 years together before her dea th in 1989.Earl was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. He was a me mber of St. Pius X Catholic Church.Survivors include two sons: James (Karen) Wilz and John Wilz both of Apple ton; three grandchildren: Ashley, Amanda, and Allison, two brothers: Clare nce (Adeline) Wilz of Neenah; and Donald (Vivian) Wilz of Appleton; a sist er, Rita Dercks of Appleton; brother-in-law, Richard Gerritts of Merrill.In addition to his parents and wife, Earl was preceded in death by a so n, Ronald and four sisters: Gladys Gerritts, Doris Knoel, Marion Van Hou t, and Helen Sexten.The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Octob er 1 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 500 W. Marquette St., with Fr. Tom Far rell officiating. Friends may call directly at the church from 9 a.m. Satu rday until the time of the service. Burial will take place at St. Joseph C emetery.

    James P. Wilz, 66 of Appleton, died unexpectedly on Thursday February 28, 2013. He was born in Appleton September 16, 1946, son of the late Earl and Katherine (Smith) Wilz. James married Karen Ellenbecker on April 20, 1985.
    James worked for Appleton Mills/Voith Fabric for 34 years, retiring in 2004. James was an avid bowler. He loved to fish, play cards and games. James was loved by many and he always came up with the best one-liners for a good laugh.
    James is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Karen; a brother, John Wilz (special friend, Kris), Appleton; sister-in-law, Shirley Ellenbecker, Appleton; brother-in-law, John (Mary) Ellenbecker, Appleton; his extended family, Bob and Sue Lee, Appleton, Rich and Debbie Logan, Appleton; and several other relatives and friends. James was further preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie.
    Funeral service will be 7:00 PM on Monday March 4, 2013 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 4:00pm until the hour of service. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.

    John T. Wilz, 63 of Appleton passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday May 14, 2013, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Appleton, February 22, 1950, son of the late, Earl and Katherine (Smith) Wilz. John met his soul mate, Kris Laabs in 1993.
    John worked for Appleton Mills (Voith Fabric) for 38 years, retiring in 2005. He had a love of sports, playing softball and bowling for many years. John was an avid Brewer fan like his father, and had a great love for the Packers.
    John is survived by his soul mate, Kris; three daughters, Ashley (Travis) Dern, Amanda Wilz, and Allison (Joe) Munes; seven grandchildren, Avin, Riley, Zea, Diamond, Nevaeh, Matthew, and Jessica; Kris' children, Andy Johann, Deb (James) King, and Barry Laabs; and his beloved dog, Gracie. John was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Ronnie.
    Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Friday May 17, 2013, at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
