    Martha G. Hackel, age 92, of Seymour passed away at home on October 19, 2013. She was born June 2, 1921 to the late Frank and Jacoba (Van Beek) Roovers.
    On December 31, 1941 she married the late Clarence J. Hackel in Kimberly. The couple later moved to Seymour and farmed together until their retirement.
    Martha was a life long member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Isaar. She belonged to the Christian mothers. She enjoyed playing sheephead, sewing, fishing, gambling, loved to travel, her 9 grandchildren and her 23 great-grandchildren..
    She is survived by her four children: Maryann Hackel, Rosemary (Duane) Hanson, Jim (Jean) Hackel, and Bill (Mary) Hackel; nine grandchildren: Mike (Kathy) Hanson, Michelle (Nicholas) Flanagan, Lisa (Greg) Hein, Jeff (Darcy) Hackel, Kris (Darren) Kamke, Karri (Todd) Vandenlangenberg, Trisha (Eric) DeBruin, Paul Hackel, and Stacey (Eric) Leisgang; 23 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by three brothers: Marty (Phyllis) Roovers, Tom (Doris) Roovers, Frank (friend Shirley) Roovers.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence; five brothers: John, George, George Jr., Joe, Jake; five sisters: Marie, Anne, Georgeanne, Francis, Marie Joanna. She was also preceded in death by four brothers-in-law: Tony, Joe, Ray and Lawrence; two sisters-in-law: Rosalie and Mary.
    Friends may call at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar, on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian burial at 11 AM with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating

    After fifteen months in the armed forces two brothers, Corporal George J. Roovers, 21 and Corporal Thomas F. Roovers, 20, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roovers of Maes Avenue, Kimberly, remain unseparated. Both were inducted February 2, 1943 at Fort Sheridan, Ill. The brothers were in basic training together, then by some stroke of fate were assigned to the same B-24 Liberator Bomber Squadron with an overseas destination. Now overseas the brothers, working in close collaboration daily, perform the duties of fusing and loading bombs.

    George J. Roovers, age 82, of Kaukauna, died unexpectedly Wednesday mornin g, Feb. 23, 2005. He was born Sept. 2, 1922, to the late Frank and Jaco ba (Van Beek) Roovers, in Kimberly, where he was a resident, until movi ng to Kaukauna in 1963. George served with the U. S. Army Air Corps, duri ng World War II, with the 456 Bomb Group in Italy. He married Lillian Elsw orth, May 12, 1951; she preceded him in death Sept. 28, 2001. George had b een employed by Kimberly Clark Corporation, at the Kimberly Mill, for 41 y ears, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed all Wisconsin sports teams especially t he Packers and fishing.     Kimberly - Thomas F. Roovers, age 94, of Kimberly, passed away on Sunday evening, February 11, 2018 at Frontida Assisted Living. Tom was born September 23, 1923 in Kimberly, son of the late Frank and Jacoba (Van Beek) Roovers. He was a veteran having served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII in the 456th Bomber group in Italy. On August 25, 1951, Tom married Doris Ardell at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. Tom was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Parish and the American Legion Post #60 in Kimberly. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and teasing his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tom was also an avid Packer and Brewer fan. He worked for many years for the Village of Kimberly Street Department, retiring as Superintendent in 1983.
    Tom is survived by his four children: Mary (David) Schuette of North Carolina, James (Marion) Roovers and Susan (David) Scherg both of Kimberly, and Mark (Kathy) Roovers of Darboy; grandchildren: Adam (Kristen) Schuette and Holly (Mitchell) Taylor; Wendy (Troy) Van Nuland, Alison (Ryan) Mc Cormick and Nicholas (Jessie) Roovers; Matthew (Lydia) Scherg, Jennifer Scherg and Megan (Justin) Susdorf; Kristin (Larry) Dorn and Jason (fiancée Caitlyn Biese) Roovers; great grandchildren: Owen, Evan, Charlotte, Eleanor, Camille, Amelia, Jaden, Nolan, Teegan, Riley, Wyatt, Izabella, and Lawrence (Law), sister-in-law, Phyllis (Lom) Roovers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Tom was preceded in death by his wife Doris, his parents, siblings; John, George, George Jr., Joe, Jake, Marie, Anne, Georgeanne, Francis, Marie Joanne, Martha, Frank, and Marty, father-in-law and mother-in-law Austin and Helen Ardell, sisters-in-law Shirley, and Kathleen Ardell and Carol (Joseph) Minten, brothers-in-law; Gerald, Robert (Judy) and Kenneth Ardell.
    The funeral liturgy for Tom will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH - HOLY NAME CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly, with Msgr. Jim Vanden Hogen officiating.
    A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 3:00 pm until the time of mass, with a private committal service being held at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
    The family would like to thank the Veterans Administration, Frontida Assisted Living and ThedaCare Hospice.
    Tom had a great sense of humor, was well respected, and was an overall great guy. He will be missed by all, we love you Dad.

    Frank J. Roovers, formerly of Kimberly, died peacefully at Bethany Home on October 8, 2015 in Waupaca, Wisconsin, at the age of 87. Frank was born on September 3, 1928, in Kimberly, Wisconsin, to Frank and Jacoba Roovers. He married his wife Dora in January, 1953 after serving in the U. S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Yancey in the Korean War. In December of 1955 the couple welcomed twins Larry and Terry into their home. Frank spent a career of over 40 years as a papermaker with Kimberly-Clark, and Mid-Tec Corp, where he is fondly remembered by coworkers for his wit and humorous antics.
    Frank is survived by his children, Larry (Diane) Roovers , Knoxville Tennessee, and Terry (Jan) Roovers, Ogdensburg, Wisconsin; his stepchildren Carol (Don) Uecker, Appleton, Wisconsin, Barb Koehne, Appleton, Wisconsin, and Jerry Lux (Kathy), Wild Rose, Wisconsin, brother Marty Roovers, Combined Locks, Wisconsin, and special friend Shirley Keddell, of Appleton. He is preceded in death by his wife Dora (Champeau) Roovers, and wife Audrey (Elger) Roovers, brothers John, George, Tom, Joe, and Jake, and sisters Marie, Ann, Martha, and Georgiana and stepson Eugene Lux.
    In addition to raising his sons, Frank played an integral role in nurturing his grandchildren, Ryan, Jennifer, Ben, Maggie, and Elliot. Frank is best remembered by his grandchildren for his generosity and intense devotion to their pursuits. Frank was also blessed with three great grandchildren, Carson, Catherine, and Harper.
    Frank was able to spend a long retirement enjoying the outdoors in Waupaca County with his son Terry's family developing their dream home, and travelling to Knoxville to enjoy the company of his son Larry's family.
    A memorial service to honor Frank's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday October 31, 2015 at the JANSEN FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 204 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, Wisconsin. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Frank's family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the staff at Bethany Home and Thedacare Hospice for their gentle care in dad's final days.     Martin S. "Marty" Roovers, 83, of Combined Locks, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 28, 2016. He was born on September 10, 1932, in Kimberly, son of the late Frank and Jacoba (Van Beek) Roovers. Marty married the love of his life, Phyllis Lom, on May 4, 1955, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Combined Locks.
    Marty worked many years for the Village of Combined Locks on the street department, and was also a part-time police officer for the village. He was a member of the Combined Locks Advancement Association, Quarterbacks Club, and St. Paul Catholic Church. He was also an avid Packers fan.
    Marty's love and dedication to his family was unmatchable. Nothing filled his heart with more joy than to be able to spend time with them. Many special memories were made up north at Pelican Lake. Marty looked forward to any moment he could spend at the ball park, watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their events. He was extremely proud of each of them.
    Marty was a devoted, loving husband, and for over 61 years, made the perfect match for Phyllis. Together they raised their 5 children, and showed them the meaning of true love. His sense of humor, smile, and loving personality will be missed by all.
    Marty is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis; children: Annette (Tom) Van Grinsven, Cindy De Valk, Karen (Anthony) Shablak, Roderick (Vicky) Roovers, and Robin (Todd) LeNoble; grandchildren: Jessica, Scott, Tara, Abbie, Emily, Amanda, Ashley, Marissa, Paige, Matthew, Martin, and Morgan; 16 great grandchildren; a brother, Tom Roovers; and many other family members and special friends.
    Marty was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Mick De Valk; grandsons: Eric and Jason; siblings: John, George, George Jr., Joe, Jake, Marie, Anne, Georgeanne, Francis, Marie, Joanne, Martha, and Frank; father and mother-in-law, Roderick and Helen Lom; and a sister-in-law, Lea Ann.
    Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace Street, Combined Locks, with Fr. Andy Kysely officiating.     Carolann M. Huss nee Roovers, 72, passed away on Saturday morning at Rennes Health Care Center. Carol was born in Kimberly to John and Rose (Hackel) Roovers. She worked for many years as a nursing assistant at St. Paul Home. Carol enjoyed knitting, feeding her birds, flowers and was a big Packer and Brewer fan. She also was a volunteer for Helping Hands. Most of all Carol loved spending time with her children and grand children and those times will always be treasured. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

    Hobart - William "Bill" Patrick Hackel, 72, of Hobart, WI passed away at home Saturday, April 14, 2018. He was born on March 17, 1946, to Clarence and Martha (Roovers) Hackel. Bill grew up in Seymour, WI.
    He graduated from Seymour High in 1964. Bill earned an associate degree in Carpentry and worked in that field for 10 years while farming. Bill used those skills to build a home with his own hands, for the love of his life, Mary Lynn Reed. Bill and Mary were married in 1970 and loved and laughed together for 48 years.
    Working along-side his father and brother, Bill helped grow the family farm into a large successful hog operation. He hog farmed until his retirement. Bill took classes in finance, as his drive was to take care of his family. He was self-taught in many aspects of his life and this was evident in his love of landscaping and gardening. After working long hours, Bill would come home and work in his yard to cultivate a heavenly view for Mary and his 3 children. He enjoyed being a craftsman and created clocks, tables, creches and other works of art.
    Bill was well read; his reading of nonfiction made him a source of knowledge to his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, soaking up the sun, fishing, travels to the Caymen Islands, a drink or two with friends, and playing cards. When his kids were young Bill enjoyed traveling with them and taking them on Sunday picnics; memories they will cherish forever.
    Bill is survived by his spouse, Mary; children: Trisha (Eric) DeBruin of Seymour; Paul (girlfriend Kari) Hackel of Hobart; Stacey (Eric) Leisgang of Oneida; grandchildren: Jacob, Olivia, William and Braden DeBruin, Dylan and Austin Hackel, Colin and Lucas Leisgang; siblings: Maryann Hackel and Rosemary (Duane) Hanson, both of Appleton; Jim (Elizabeth) Hackel of Pulaski; and numerous nieces and nephews.
