Obituary:
Steven Scott Dorn, 46, passed away on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010. He was born on Aug. 12, 1963, the son of Lawrence L. Dorn, Sr. and the late Dolores Dorn. Steven graduated from Xavier High School in 1981. He then entered the Navy and faithfully served his country until his honorable discharge.
Steven's passion was in the food service industry, he loved to cook. As a former owner of The Willow restaurant, he and his dedicated staff were the recipients of numerous awards. Steven was a generous man who was actively involved in several recovery clubs. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved the arts and music and enjoyed going to Florida to spend time with his parents.
Steven is lovingly survived by his parents, Lawrence L. Dorn Sr. (Billie Jean) Dorn, Ft. Meyers, Fla.; brother, Lawrence Dorn Jr., Menasha; nephew, Lawrence Dorn III and special friend, Kristin Roovers; nieces, Jennifer (Matt) Vandenberg, Elizabeth Dorn; great-nephew, Chase Vandenberg; great-niece and godchild, Sanibel Vandenberg; and various aunts, uncles and cousins. Steven is further survived by all his cherished friends.
A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine Street, Appleton, with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends will be received for visitation from 4 to 8 p.m on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at the Wichmann Funeral Home and again on Tuesday at church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will also be a Prayer Service on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Wichmann Funeral Home.
Steven's family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors and nurses at St. Elizabeth Hospital for all their care and support.
