    Memorial services for Leo Weyers will be Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Hay Springs, with Father Joseph officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Sacred Heart Cemetery on Mirage Flats. Mr. Weyers passed away at the Good Samaritan in Alliance, Neb.
    Obituary
    Leo Arnold Weyers, 90 was born March 21, 1926 to Peter and Anna (Peters) Weyers. He grew up on a farm that bordered the Niobrara River south of Hay Springs.
    He attended Elementary School at Riverview School located up the hill from his home. When he reached High School he lived with his grandparents Arnold and Minnie Peters in Rushville. He graduated from Rushville High School in 1944. While in High School he worked part time in the produce department of the local grocery store; a job he continued after graduation.
    He entered the Army and was stationed at Uxorial France with the 13th regiment and Camp Marshall in North Carolina with the 504th regiment of the 82nd division Airborne. He trained as a paratrooper while serving in the Army.
    He married Margaret Idonna Frandsen on October 5, 1947 in Lincoln NE. They moved to Hay Springs and purchased a "unit" of farm ground on the Mirage Flats. They built a one bedroom basement home up the hill from his parents until the family outgrew the space. In 1958 they built a brick home across the yard with an amazing view of the Niobrara River and Nebraska Sandhills. Leo was very proud of the view from the living room window and would show it off whenever possible. From the road below, the house appeared to be at the edge of the canyon and many people were concerned that it would slide down the hill where in actuality it is located a safe distance from the edge.
    When computer use began, Leo was fascinated with them and enrolled in a class to learn more about how they operated. He especially enjoyed playing poker on the computer. Leo was an avid reader and loved movies. Over the years he amassed a large collection of books and VHS movies. Leo was able to do math very quickly in his head. He was always figuring out how much something was going to cost and making sure his children were aware of that cost. When dementia began he joked that he could re-read his books and re-watch movies because he couldn't remember what he read or saw the first time. He even joked that he could hide his own Easter eggs.
    Leo served on the Rural Electric Board for many years which created travel opportunities for Leo and Idonna. Leo greatly enjoyed traveling and was ready to go whenever he could. They were proud of the fact that they were able to travel to all of their children's college graduations and weddings and also attended most of their grandchildren's High School graduations and weddings. They also enjoyed a trip to Europe.
    Leo is survived by his wife of 68 years Idonna, his brother Louis, sister in laws- Mary Weyers, Linda Weyers and Leota Frandsen. His children and spouses- Lorinda Elson, Ruick(Rick) and Donna Weyers, Timothy(Tim) and Cheryl Weyers, Calvin and Jane Weyers, Brad and Alynn Brodine, Leslie and Marcia Estrada, Paul and Laurie Weyers, Mark and Camilla(Cammy) Horn, Ronnie and Amelia(Amy) Snyder and Keith and Anna Taylor.
    His 26 grandchildren and spouses- Jason & Anita(Elson) Blum, Jody Elson, Lisa Elson, Lee & Nicole(Weyers) Folger, Brent & Crystal Weyers, Scott & Erin Weyers, Matthew Weyers, Mark & Amanda Weyers, Alstair & Amanda(Weyers) Macdonald, Alexis Weyers, Eva Weyers, Cole & Suzanne Brodine, Logan & Bostyn Brodine, Mason & Kathleen(Katie) Brodine, Kaydra Brodine, Brian Estrada, Heather Weyers, Chelsea Weyers, Spencer Weyers, Isaac Horn, Megan Horn, Mike & Kayla(Horn) Hohne, Alanna Snyder, Kalon Snyder, Gracelyn Taylor and Jaron Taylor.     Merlin E. "Merle" "Uncle Pete" Weyers, 71, Kimberly, passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2013 at his home. Merle was born December 11, 1942 in Kimberly Wisconsin to Jacob "Pinky" and Elizabeth (Hietpas) Weyers. He was a 1961 graduate of Kimberly High School. He served his country as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War. On October 4, 1968 he married Anita Wiese at St. Paul Catholic Church in Plainfield Wisconsin and they enjoyed over 45 years together. He was a longtime employee of NewPage (formerly Kimberly-Clark) until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kimberly. Merle loved to spend time at the family cottage. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially liked hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and NASCAR.
    He will be sadly missed by his wife Anita, children; Kellie (Erich) Kocher, Appleton, Tammy (Keith) Wenzlaff, Appleton, Sherry (special friend Ron Hartjes) Weyers, Manawa and Christa Weyers, Kimberly, grandchildren; Matt, Leah and Emily Kocher, Zach and Jacob "Jake" Wenzlaff, Amanda Hartjes; his dog and faithful companion Brandi, sister Waneta (Ron) Van Boxtel, Ft.     Daniel W. Weyers, age 76, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Appleton Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Dan was born in Appleton on July 15, 1938 to the late Martin and Clair (Schreiber) Weyers. He graduated with the class of 1956 at Kaukauna High School. On October 12, 1963, he was united in marriage to Susan Argust at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. The couple has enjoyed 51 years together. Dan worked at Kimberly Clark's Atlas Mill for 40 years, retiring in 1997. After retirement, Dan and his wife Susan moved to Elcho to their home on Post Lake. While there, Dan enjoyed relaxing in the outdoors of the great northwoods. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing, following the Packers, Cubs, and Kimberly High School sports.
    He will be missed by his loving wife Susan, of Appleton; two sons: Steven W. (Sue) Weyers, and grandchildren Cassie and Mason, Freedom and William (Kaaren) Weyers, and grandchildren Brock and Dane, Village of Harrison; two brothers: Joe (Joan) Weyers and Clarence (Bev) Weyers, both of Kaukauna; 3 brothers-in-law, David Bain and Harry Francis, both of Kaukauna and Roger DuFrane, Black Creek; sister-in-law, Nancy (Pat) O'Brien, GA; and his little buddy, Benji. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
    Dan was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bernard "Bud" Weyers, two sisters: Helen Francis and Marilyn Bain, sister-in-law, Barbara DuFrane, and his little buddy, "Clark."
    Friends may visit from 11 am until 12:30 pm on Wednesday, April 15, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. A private family prayer service will then be held. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

    married David Bain at Holy Cross Church. In her younger years, she

She was also an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and enjoyed cooking, sewing, traveling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be missed by each of them.

    Little Chute - Jeanne A. Gjerald, age 61, of Little Chute, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, April 9, 2018. She was born on July 25, 1956, daughter of the late Eugene and Elizabeth (Baumann) Weyers. On December 17, 1988, Jeanne married Paul Gjerald, and together they have celebrated over 29 years of marriage. They were sweethearts and enjoyed watching movies with each other, while eating a big bowl of popcorn. Jeanne was also an avid reader and tremendously enjoyed children. She ran her own daycare called Jeanne's Little Ones. Babies and children could make Jeanne smile more than anything. She most recently was employed by Transport Refrigeration.
    Jeanne is survived by her loving husband, Paul Gjerald; siblings: Lee (Lois) Weyers, Ken (Susan) Weyers, Gary (Debbie) Weyers and Lori (John) Hein; mother-in-law, Betty Gjerald; brothers and sisters-in-law: Deanna Gjerald, Kay (Joe) Boelter, Alan Gjerald and Jane (Terry) Wyngaard; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
    Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Elizabeth; two infant brothers; father-in-law, Cliff Gjerald and sister-in-law, Ellen Gjerald.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 601 S. Washington Street, Combined Locks, with Pastor Nate Gauerke officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
