Jim Lyle Kaufman, age 47, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on March 7. He was born May 17, 1961, in Appleton, the son of John (Jack) and Joyce (Mangan) Kaufman. Jim attended Appleton East High School, where he played football and was a member of the class of 1979. He was a CNA for twenty years at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute. Jim was a big crossword puzzle and country western music lover. He was a gentle, kind man and a wonderful help to his mother. He is lovingly survived by his mother, Joyce; and his brothers and sister: John (Louise) Kaufman of Hartland, Tom (Kay) Kaufman of Milwaukee, Roger of Lake Mills and Carrie (Jeff) Kippenhan of Neenah. He will also be missed by his nephews: Kevin and Cody Kippenhan; Steven, Aaron and Joe Kaufman; and Jorge Valdivieso; his nieces: Rachel, Sara and Heidi Kaufman; and Shannon Quinn; and his great-nieces: Araeah Collins and Mercedes Kippenhan; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including his good friend, Jake Hall.
