See Image Mrs. Jennie Micke, 90, Cloquet, passed away Monday at the Cloquet Convales cent Home. She was born August 13, 1885 in Wrightstown, Wis. She came to C loquet in 1926 and lived here the balance of her life. She was a former me mber of the Lady Forresters of Cloquet. Surviving are three daughters, Mr s. Paul (Gertrude) Liesen, Fenton, Mich.; Mrs. John (Germaine) Lamers, Kim berly, Wis.; And Sister Marilyn Micke, OSB, Duluth; two sons, Anthony a nd Gregory, both of Cloquet; three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Behl, Cloquet; Mr s. 1907 Kaukauna Times dated 5/31/1907; One of the most brilliant and prettie st weddings that ever occurred in that vincinity was celebrated Wednesd ay at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. & Mrs John Verbeten of the to wn of Wrightstown, when their daughter Miss Jennie became the bride of The odore Micke of the same town. The bride's brother, Martin Verbeten was be st man and the maid of honor was Miss Nellie Kilsdonk. Miss Nellie Verbete n, the brides sister acted as bridesmaid and Mr. Henry Wilpole was groomsm an. The ceremony was performed at St. Paul's Church at the village of Wrig htstown at nine o'clock. At the home of the brides parents the whole count ry side had received invitations to the event to the number of over two hu ndred, and feasting, fun, and festivities reigned there for nearly twen ty four hours. The Mill & Nugent orchestra furnished the music at this hig hly pleasing event which will long be remembered for its enjoyment to a ll present. Both are well known young people who have hosts of friends w ho extend congratulations and best wishes for sucess in future life. Th ey will commence housekeeping when they return from a honeymoon trip to Ch icago they are now enjoying. Large numbers of the guests were present at t he festivities from this town and the village of Wrightstown.

The "America" was termed a "Hambro Barque" which might refer to the compa ny that made the bark or barque. The crew was under the leadership of Cap tain M. Haushele. A priest by the name of Father van der Poel was o ne of the nine-four passengers aboard. John Coenen, the son of Theodore C oenen and Johanna van den Berg wrote this account. He was fourteen years o ld at the time he journeyed with his family to America.About 1848, seeing that his children could have better opportunities in t he United States, Theodore Coenen sold his little property in Boekel and s ailed with his family from Rotterdam in a vessel bound for Philadelphi a. They landed in that city after a voyage of 48 days and then their dest ination being in Brown County, Wisconsin, proceeded at once by rail to Alb any, new york, thence via the Erie Canal to Buffalo, New York, and from th ere by the old steamer "Michigan" to Green Bay, Brown, WI. where they land ed in early June of 1848.
