    • 1909 Kaukauna Times dated 10/15/1909- HymenalA marriage that will come as a complete surprise to many of their frien ds is that of Miss Elsie K. Powers, daughter of Mr & Mrs John Powers of Ho llandtown to John J. Vandenberg of Butte City, Mont. The wedding which w as from the home of the brides aunt Mrs Pat Kehan took place Tuesday morni ng at St. Patricks Church in Fond du Lac. Rev Kehan performing. They we re attended by Miss Lucille Kehan of Fond du Lac and Will H. Powers of Hol land. The bride wore a pretty suit of navy broadcloth with stripe beaver t oque to match and carried a white prayer book. Her maid wore a beautiful p lum-purple dress trimmed with jet. After the ceremony an elaborate coar se wedding breakfast was served to the wedding party at the Palmer Hote l. The young couple left on the noon train for an extended wedding tr ip to Kenosha to spend a few days with the grooms brother, from there to C hicago where they will be guests of Dr. & Mrs T. Carter and from the re to Lockport NY via Niagra Falls. Their return trip will be practical ly a swing across the US going direct from Lockport NY to Butte, Montana w here the groom is engaged in a prosperous and profitable business. the con gratulations and best wishes of their many friends accompany them to the ir western home. A number from here attended the wedding.
