  • Notes  News Mention (Family):
    • Celebrate On Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. John Flanagan, one of the most widely-known pioneeer couples of the town of Maple Creek celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Saturday at their farm in Maple Creek. Because of the ill health of Mr. Flanagan, who is 82. the ceremony was transferred from the Most Precious Blood church, at New London to the house where Father O. Kolbe conferred the blessing at 8 o'clock Saturday morning. Mrs Flanagan is 73 years of age and is very active. Only intimate friends of the family and the eight Flanagan children and their families attended the ceremony. Covers were laid for 50 relatives at a dinner and supper at the home. Three generations of the Flanagan family have made their homes on the farm. The first Flanagan farm was a log house, which was replaced by a large home. This was destroyed by fire about a year ago and was replaced by the modern, home in which the ceremony took place. Mr. Flanagan held many town offices in Maple Creek. Mr. and Mrs. Flanagan's family consists of six sons and two daughters. They are Thomas, Appleton; Dr. G. J. Flnnagan, Kaukauna; James, Sugar Bush; Lawrence, Edward. John, Jr., and Alice, Maple Creek; Mrs. Edward McLaughhn, Clintonville.
