  Schmit, Margaret L.Margaret L. Schmit, age 89, passed away peacefully with her family by h er side, Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at Century Oaks, Darboy. She was born Sept ember 6, 1916, to the late William and Clara (Eberhardt) Van Ryite in Appl eton and lived there most of her life. She married Robert E. Schmit and th ey were blessed with three children. Margaret was a member of St. Thomas M ore Catholic Church and the Ladies of the Moose, Kaukauna. She enjoyed tra veling with family and friends.She will be greatly missed by her children, Judy (Stan) Griesbach, Combin ed Locks; Sharon Coenen (fiance, Greg La Fond), Eau Claire; Bob (Sandy) Sc hmit, Freedom; Cathy (Tim) Miller, Sherwood and their children: Tim and Sh auna; seven grandchildren, Bryan (Toni) Griesbach, Neenah; Leah (Dave) Pet erson, Wausau; Andrea (Jerome) Berger, Colorado; Ben (Anita) Coenen, Altoo na; Jeremy Coenen (friend, Angela Swanson), Minneapolis; Ashley and Just in Schmit, Freedom; six great-grandchildren, Jarett and Joshua Peterson, C onlan and Shiloh Berger, Jasilyn Griesbach and Brianna Coenen; a wonderf ul and devoted sister, Irene Lamers, Little Chute; sister-in-law, Gladys B uxton, Appleton; brother-in-law, Robert Vander Velden; she is further surv ived by many nieces, nephews and friends.Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sister, Betty (Ro n) Geurts; and a brother, Ed (Rosemary) Van Ryite; and son-in-law, Jerry C oenen.A Mass of Celebration will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at S t. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald St., Appleton, with Rev G erald Falk officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appl eton. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. Monday until the ti me of the mass.
