  Germaine F. Lamers, Kimberly, 94, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at St. Pa ul Home in Kaukauna. She was born June 11, 1911, one of six children bo rn to Ted and Jenny (Verbeten) Micke in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Germai ne moved to Kimberly from Cloquet, Minnesota, at the age of 18 years. S he met and married John Lamers on Oct. 4, 1933, in Kimberly, and was devot ed to him for over 71 years. As their children grew, John and Germaine we re regular attendees at their school and sporting events. Her greatest j oy was her family and she devoted her entire life to fulfillment of the ro les, wife and mother. She was active in Christian Mothers and the Nation al Catholic Society of Foresters at Holy Name Parish. She and John were me mbers of Holy Name Parish for 71 years and were active in the choir. In h er family she will be remembered for her expertise in the kitchen; cannin g, baking, cooking, preserving everything that came from the garden. She l oved her card playing, especially sheepshead. In their retirement years Jo hnny and Germaine traveled and spent time visiting children, grandchildr en and great grandchildren.Survivors include five children, Reg (Shirley) Lamers, Long Grove, Ill.; J erry (June) Lamers, Sun Prairie; Jack (Judy) Lamers, Centerville, Ohio; D on (Sue) Lamers, St. Louis, Mo.; and Karen Hughes, Brookfield; daughter-in -law, Leslie Lamers, Clarkston, Mich.; 30 grandchildren, 52 great grandchi ldren; sister, Sister Marilyn Micke of St. Scholastica, Duluth, Minnesot a.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Lamers; daught er and son-in-law, Marilyn (Frank) Murphy; son, Bill Lamers; son-in-law, M ike Hughes; infant grandson, Michael Ryan Murphy; infant great-grandson, J ohn Turner; three brothers and a sister.The funeral liturgy for Germaine will be held at 12 (noon) on Tuesday, Fe b. 21, 2006, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly wi th Fr. Tom Pomeroy. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends m ay call directly at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of t he liturgy.
