  Family History Researcher	Carol, I have Charles and Ellen (Shea/Shay)McCarthy of Bantry who had at l east the following chldren: Daniel b. abt. 1810 married Johanna Cronin ab t. 1843. Their daughter Mary was born presumably in Bantry 9 Oct 1845. Bro ther Charles b. 20 May 1820. Dennis b. abt. 1823. Probably a daughter Cath erine who married a Patrick Burke.Daniel and Dennis left for Canada in 1847. They landed in Quebec and by 18 50 they were in Oswego where Dennis married Margaret Tobin of Whiddy Isla nd in Bantry Bay.Charles left Ireland for the US a bit later - probably abt. 1849. He marri ed Catherine Sullivan of Balleydehob in the US but the Sullivan family sto ry is that they had known each other in Ireland.Daniel and Johanna Cronin McCarthy ended up on East Bloomfield, NY for t he remainder of their days. Dennis and Charles moved west to the Kaukau na WI area.Anything familiar? We also have lots of Charles', Dennis', Daniel and mal es named Florence leading me to think that these 3 brothers had a broth er named Florence but I've been unable to prove a connection to the sever al Florences I've found in NY and WI.Hope we make a connection. BTW - are you aware of a family nickname? Wh en we were in Bantry last year we were told that we would need to know t he nickname of our McCarthy's - that there are so many of then that nickna mes had to be developed to keep the various families straight.
