  Loretta Mae Hersant, age 79, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Appleton Health Care Center after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Loretta was born on January, 20, 1932 in Rhinelander, WI; daughter of the late Clifford and Madie (Johnson) Tyvol. On January 28, 1950, she was united in marriage to Wallace T. Hersant at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. Wallace preceded her in death on August 9, 2010. Loretta was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Appleton. She enjoyed ceramics, playing cribbage, dancing and watching the Brewer games with her husband. She loved to cook and listening to Elvis and Alan Jackson. Her greatest joy was taking care of her whole family who were the light of her life. She will be deeply missed by her children, Connie Woldt, Seymour, Wally and a very special daughter-in-law, LouAnn Hersant, Appleton, Sherry Deltour, Fremont and Wesley Hersant, Menasha; grandchildren, Stacy Hietpas, Travis (Katie) Woldt, Sarah Garcia, Lisa (Quentin) Johnson, Kelli (Adam) Peters, and Jim Hersant and Ashley Hersant; great grandchildren, Taylor, Brandon, Mikayla, Derek, Mikenna, Isabella, Brianna, Conner, Jake, Emma, Joey, Carson, Ethan, Aries, Lucas, Abigail, Austin and Andrea; brothers and sisters, Tom (Louise) Tyvol, Lois Krause, Carol Tyvol and Chuck (Mary) Tyvol; brothers and sisters in law, Milo VanOudenhoven and Beverly VanAcker and also by many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, father and mother in law, Anthony and Marie Hersant and sons-in-law, James Woldt and Andrew Deltour. A funeral service for Loretta will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home with the Rev. Kurt Hoffman officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 - 6:30 p.m. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established to benefit Parkinson's Disease research. Loretta's family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Fox, and the nurses and staff of Appleton Health Care who took such wonderful care of mom these past seven years, especially Karen, Becca, Lori and Janice. Thank you all so much for your heartfelt compassion. Donut Grandma, You were very special to all of us and we will all miss you very much. Mom, when Dad passed away, you could not express your feelings, even though we knew your heart was broken. Now, through your strength, our hearts are mended and yours can now be whole again.
