  Carlton J. Von Ruden, 77, of Cashton/Sparta, pass ed away peacefully Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at the Rolling Hills Rehabilita tion Center in Sparta. Carl maintained his sense of humor even through h is final hours. He was born March 4, 1928, on a farm near Cashton, to Alfr ed and Adeline (Chapiewsky) Von Ruden. On May 17, 1955, Carl was unit ed in marriage to Dorothy (Frederick) Von Ruden at Sts. Peter and Paul Cat holic Church in Pine Hollow, Wis. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniv ersary this last May.Carl was a dairy farmer all his life; he also was the Town of Jefferson Cl erk for 34 years and worked for the Monroe County Farm Service Agency f or over 20 years. His favorite hobbies included fishing, playing cards a nd baseball, especially the New York Yankees. Carl took many people fishi ng over his lifetime and was always happy to share his catch with many mor e.He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Sparta; five children, Stanley (Che ryl) Von Ruden of Norwalk, Wis., their two children, Dustin & Kyle of La C rosse, Randy (Janna) Von Ruden of Sparta, their three children, Jessica (J ayme) Kvistad of Sparta, Randy Jr. (Nancy) Von Ruden and their two childre n, Ashlin & Ethan of Dayton, Ohio, Abigayle (Andy) Hutson of Elroy, Wis .; Alice (Michael) Leis of Cashton, their two children, Eric & Brittn ey of La Crosse, Janis Von Ruden, her child, Grace of La Crosse, and Vern on (Lynn) Von Ruden, their child, Alex Paulson of Marshfield, Wis.; one si ster, Marllyn (Paul) Schmitz of Cashton; one brother, Arnold (Joan) Von Ru den of Cashton; special friends, the Lopez and Rejcek families; numerous n ieces, nephews, cousins, and fishing buddies.He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Adeline; and one so n, Loren.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Sacred Hea rt Catholic Church in Cashton. Father Eric Berns will officiate. Burial wi ll follow in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Pine Hollow. Fam ily and friends are invited for visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the T orkelson Funeral Home in Cashton, with a Liturgy service at 8 p.m. Fami ly and friends are also invited for visitation from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Wed nesday at the funeral home.
