  William M. Hilgers, 94, formerly of 950 High St., Wisconsin Rapids, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at Riverview Manor nursing home, Wisconsin Rapids. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. The Revs. James Esser and William Menzel will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids. Bill was born July 7, 1908, in Rudolph, to Martin and Augusta (O'Shasky) Hilgers. He was married to Margaret Coenen on June 9, 1931, in Rudolph. She died Nov. 8, 1964. He then was married to Agnes Esser on Sept. 30, 1967, in Wisconsin Rapids. She died April 19, 1986. Bill was a farmer and also employed at Consolidated Papers Inc. He was a member of the Holy Name Society. Survivors include three sons, Marvin (Bev) Hilgers, Wisconsin Rapids, Fred (Marcie) Esser, Rudolph, and the Rev. James Esser, Pulaski; two daughters, Marlene Jung, Milwaukee, and Marcella (Bob) Klish, Wisconsin Rapids; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. His two wives, an infant son (Vincent), an infant daughter (Nancy), six brothers and four sisters preceded Bill in death. Friends may call at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
