  Kenneth W. Sommers, 84, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Covington Manor Nursing Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Appleton, WI, Kenneth served his country in both the U.S. Navy and also the U.S. Air Force. Later he worked as a Construction Supervisor with Pavco Construction in Florida for 15 years years, retiring in 2006. He loved his family and had a special love for his dog, Duke. Ken was an extremely talented woodworker, earning the title of Master Carpenter and Cabinet Builder. He also enjoyed racing in his own race car. Surviving are his wife, Doris C. Sommers of Fort Wayne; stepdaughter, Carolyn (John) Anderson of Palm Bay, FL; stepson, Christopher (Carol) Adasczik of Fort Wayne; step-grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher, Kyle and Ryan; siblings, Rita Woods of Appleton, WI; Janice (Tom) Lawson of Manassas, VA; Bob Sommers of Racine, WI; Angie (Larry) Kruzicki of Appleton, WI; Ray (Jan) Sommers of Appleton, WI; Art (Bonnie) Sommers of New London, WI; and Danny Sommers of Appleton, WI. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Evelyn Sommers; daughter, Tracey Ann Sommers; and brothers, Leon and Francis Sommers. Funeral Service is at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 20, 2014 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling 1 hour prior.
