  He (age 29) & his brother Reinhold drowned in the Embarrass River, Town of Deer Creek, Sunday July 26, 1914 while trying to save brother in law William Werth age 15. William & Reinhold were married at St John's Lutheran Church, Town of Deer Creek 3 years prior by Rev. Max Hensel who performed the funeral services on Wednesday July 29, with burial in Clintonville.
