  Meyer, Mrs. George (Evelyn) Evelyn, 81, Appleton, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Colony Oaks Care Center. She was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Kaukauna, daughter of the late John and LaBelle (Sawings) DeGroat. Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at First United Methodist Church, corner of Franklin St. and Drew St., with the Rev. David Brice officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. She was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Kaukauna, daughter of the late John and LaBelle (Sawings) DeGroat. She married George Meyer Sept. 28, 1946, sharing a special loving bond for over 60 years. She was employed by AAL for 40 years before she retired. She was member of First United Methodist Church. Evelyn was a very special mother, grandmother and friend. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed her garden and flowers. She is survived by her husband George, Appleton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Richard Schabo, Appleton; Debra and Lynn Knutson, Shiocton; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Linda Meyer, Menasha; Ricky and Karen Meyer, Kimberly; a brother, Edward DeGroat, Middle Inlet, Wis.; a sister, Sylvia Jeske, Appleton; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Laura DeGroat, Verna Jeske, Lorraine Smith and a special niece; Jackie Shelley.
