  Liebergen, John H.John H. Liebergen, 85, De Pere, died Sunday, May 13, 2001 at St. Vincent H ospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1915, in the Green Bay area, son of the la te Henry and Christine (Vander Zanden) Liebergen. He graduated from Ea st De Pere High School and has been a De Pere area resident most of his li fe. John served in the US Army during World War II, stationed in Hawaii a nd California. In 1948 he married Janette Liesch. He worked at the form er Wheeler Cheese Factory, and tended bar at local supper clubs such as, U nion Hotel, Stratosphere Supper Club, Chalet Supper Club, Oneida Golf a nd Riding Club, Holiday Inn, and the Swan Club, which was his last job. Jo hn was a member of St. Mary Catholic Community, and he enjoyed golfing, fi shing, gardening and playing cribbage.Survivors include three sons, Mike Liebergen and Jan Smith-Liebergen, Suam ico; Denis (Donna) Liebergen, Wautoma, Wis.; and John (Amy) Liebergen, All ouez; four daughters, Sandy (Alan) Lancaster, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Hol ly (Richard) Hufford, Oshkosh; Pam Ward, Fredericksburg, Va.; Kim (Matt) S chumacher, Maribel, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Randy Smith, Sheril Jansse n, Jake Liebergen, Mason Liebergen, Eric Hufford, Josh Hufford, Ryan Lanca ster, and Ashleigh Ward; two great-grandchildren, Samantha Boettcher and L auren Janssen; and numerous nieces and nephews.John was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Clayton, Josep h, and Lawrence ""Bud'' Liebergen; and two sisters, Anita Freeman and Rach el Rebman.A private family Memorial Mass was held at St. Mary Catholic Community, Po pe John the XXIII Circle, off Sportsmans Drive, Town of Ledgeview, with Fa ther John H. Harper officiating. Cotter Funeral Home, De Pere, handled t he arrangements.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in John's name.
