  Family History Researcher	possibly related? (from genforum post- McNamara surname) Greetings,My name is Christopher Crotty and I am beginning research on our Crotty clan. Due to some initial research I thought you might be of some help. O ur family tradition tells us we originally came to the U.S. from Clar e. I have a hunch we came from the Killoe area. This is due to the fact th at I have seen the names Gorman, Crotty, and McNamara, continually appe ar in relation to the Killoe area of Clare. I have found my GGgrandfath er on a 1860 census in Brooklyn Connecticut, his wife is not mentioned, s he may have died at some point, these are the names that appear Michael S r. Michael Jr. Margaret (daughter), Patrick (son). His children immigrat ed out to San Francisco Ca. The question I have is there any evidence of o ther Crottys from this area of Clare in Connecticut? Why Brooklyn Connecti cut? Was there something there which was relative to their life in Clar e? Michael immigrated at some point in either the 40s or 50s. I have fou nd Gormans in Connecticut as well as McNamaras, I believe these families t raveled in mass from Killoe Clare, some went to work for the Stetson Hat f actory in Danbury Ct.
