  Smits, Aloysius, J. "Bunny" Aloysius J. "Bunny" Smits, De Pere, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2004, at the age 88. He was born Oct. 24, 1915, in De Pere, to the late Frank and Lena (Roffers) Smits. On Aug. 19, 1939, Abbot Pennings united him in marriage to Viola Thomson at St. Joseph Catholic Church De Pere. Al was a World War II Veteran having served in the Marine Corps. He hauled milk for many years retiring in 1973. Al was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Viola; his children, Janice (Allen) Lasee, Sharon (Dan) Greene, Mary (Jack) Janssen, Lori (Dean) Philipsen, Jim (Rose), Rick (Sue), Paul (Julie), Joe, Tom (Cherry), Mike (Cindy), Roche (Betty); 57 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren further survive him. He is also survived by two daughter-in-laws Fran Otto and Naydene Potter. Many sisters- and brothers-in-law also survive Al. He was preceded in death by two sons, Allen and Dan; and two grandchildren, Benjy and Luke; and 11 siblings. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2004 at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME, De Pere. A Parish Prayer Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church De Pere, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with Fr.
