  John Dixon, 87, of Crivitz Dies County Resident for many years John Dixon, 87, of Thunder River area near Crivitz, died at 10:40 a.m. today at Marinette General hospital where he had been a patient since May 9. A native of Germany, he lived in Marinette county for many years. The only immediate survivor is a daughter, Mrs. Paul Knoor of Crivitz. Three grandsons also survive. The body was taken to the Rhodes funeral home at Coleman. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. 6-14-1948 Dixon Rites to be at Crivitz on Tuesday. Crivitz - Funeral services for John Dixon, 87, pioneer resident of Crivitz who died Saturday at 10:40 a.m. in Marinette General hospital, will be conducted Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Crivitz mausoleum and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's church. The Rev. Vladimer Pruc will officiate and interment will be in the Crivitz cemetery. The rosary will be recited this evening at 8 o'clock in the mausoleum. Born October 2, 1860 in Bordell, Germany;, he came to the United States at the age of 21 and settled in Connecticut where he lived until 1883. He then moved to Milwaukee and operated a butcher shop until moving to the Thunder river area near Crivitz where he had lived for many years. In 1896 he married the former Anna King at Crivitz and she died in 1905. Surviving him are one daughter, Mrs. Paul P. Knorr of Crivitz, nine stepchildren, three grandsons and one great grandson.
