  John E. Van Zeeland, age 77, of Kaukauna, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014. He was born on May 22, 1936, to the late Leonard and Ruby (Rademacher) Van Zeeland. John grew up in Kaukauna and graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1955. On August 20, 1959, he married Carol Vander Loop at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown. John worked at Steiner Tissue as well as Badger Northland in the shipping department. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, softball, golf, hunting and fishing. John was also a very loyal Detroit Lions fan. He was a loving grandfather, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren at home and at "Chop's" cabin. John is survived by his wife, Carol; sons: Roy (Colleen) Van Zeeland and their children, Roy Jr., Sondra, Mason, Joey and Isaac; John (Kristy) Van Zeeland and their children, Adelyn, Eiley, Cydnee, Fletcher and Sam; special neighbor kids: Joey "6" and Sophia; siblings: Ken "Chop" Van Zeeland, Yvonne (Don) Vander Velden, Tony (Pat) Van Zeeland, David "Moe" (Mary) Van Zeeland, Ruth (Dick Niemuth) Fritz, Alice (Gerry) Albrecht, Marty (Barb) Van Zeeland, Gerry (Carol) Ederer; brothers and sisters-in-law: Linus (Gloria) Vander Loop, Shirley Vander Loop, Daniel (Toni) Vander Loop, Paul (Willie) Vander Loop, Marianne (Cletus) Feldkamp, Pat Vander Loop; along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Van Zeeland; mother, Ruby (Ray) Ederer; parents-in-law: Richard and Leona Vander Loop; brothers and sisters-in-law: Leon Vander Loop, Allen Vander Loop, Grace (Hugo) Vande Yacht and Linda Vander Loop. A funeral liturgy for John will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH (309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna) with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Visitation will be held at the FARGO FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, January 15 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and again at church on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the time of service. The family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Anderson and Dr. Gitter along with their staff for the care provided to John.
