  Appleton - Janice K. Tierney, age 79, of Appleton, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Brewster Village. She was born to the late Reuel and Muriel (Brott) Holcomb on June 4, 1938. She married the late John Tierney on April 21, 1958. She worked many years at Mary's Restaurant as a cook. Janice enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, crafting, and crocheting. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially every Wednesday night for family dinners. Janice is survived by her children: Janet (David) May of Appleton, Cheryl Miller of Appleton and Brian (Tracy) Tierney of Appleton; grandchildren: Casey(Meghan) May, Kristi (Ryan) Hubert, Tony (Stacey) May, Tierney (Brandon) Werth, Jenny Miller, Bradley (Brooke) Miller, Caitlyn and Taran Tierney; great grandchildren: Ayden and Sydney Werth, and McKenna, Dominic, and Beckett May; brother Clifford (Jackie) Holcomb of Greenville; sisters-in-law: Julie Holcomb of Neenah and Eva Tierney of Texas; brothers-in-law:, Dick (Barb) Tierney of Neenah, Robert (Audrey) of Menasha, Mike Buss of Appleton, and Terry (Vicky) Tierney of Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her Husband; her parents; brother Robert Holcomb; twin sister Janet Salentine; brothers-in-law: Dennis and Mike Tierney; and sisters-in-law: Jeanie Tierney and Linda Buss. A Memorial Service for Janice will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Brettschneider Trettin Nickel Funeral Chapel with Deacon Maury Reed officiating. Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Janice will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren The Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Brewster Village for their care and concern for Janice.
