  Eunice P. Hendricks, age 87, Appleton, died peacefully at her home on Feb. 6, 2009. Eunice was born on February 3, 1922, in Combined Locks, to the late Emil and Helen (Dreger) Wegenke. She married Robert Hendricks on September 20, 1941, and enjoyed 58 years of happiness until he preceded her in death on October 13, 1999. Eunice was a well-known employee of Geenen, Gloudeman's and McCain department stores. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church all of her life and a longtime member of the Ladies Aid. Eunice was also a member of the Auxiliary of the Harvey Pierre Post #2778 of the Veterans Of Foreign Wars. Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Earl) Ahlswede, Neenah; and Barbara (Thomas) Besch, Omaha, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Sarah Besch and John (Lisa) Alswede; her sister, Mildred Klarner; Appleton; her sister-in-law, Mae Megenke; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin (Helen) Wegenke, and George (Betty) Wegenke; her sisters, Delphine (Ray) Huelsbeck and Arlene (Glen) Powell/Mrs. Leslie Welson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 S. Mason Street, Appleton, with Rev. Paul T. Schuler and Rev. Tom Mielke, officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again directly at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
