  Virginia Mae (Sweetalla-Hulse) Hoerning, 85, Redgranite, died Friday, May 13, 2016. She was born on August 13, 1930 to Frank and Viola (Boushley) Sweetalla in Neenah. Virginia was united in marriage to Gerald Hoerning on May 29, 1981, in Menasha. She was employed at the Neenah Post Office, proud to hold a license to drive on the right side of the car and to be the first woman postal carrier in Neenah. Virginia was involved in the aluminum can drive and the victory gardens during WWII. She was an avid Vikings fan, enjoyed reading, gardening, playing bingo and horseback riding. Virginia is survived by her children: Kathryn Robinson and Dan Robinson, grandchildren: Kelly (Andy) Marquardt, Paul VanBoxtel, Mellody LaValley, Casey VanBoxtel, Feather Robinson and Chas Robinson, great-grandchildren: Joshua, Amber and Heidi Nelson, Kenesha (Brian Reid) and Izabella VanBoxtel, Mary and Gavin Bielefeld, nieces Cindy (Terry) Peterson and Connie (Dean) Lukasavage, nephew Tony Sweetalla, step-children: Roseann Hopfensperger, Diane Thompson, Louann Langner, Cheryl Wanty, Alan Hoerning, Jerry Hoerning Jr., Loren Hoerning, as well as many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband's Dale Robinson, Harold Hulse and Gerald Hoerning and her brother Frank (Shirley) Sweetalla. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with Pastor Nickel officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be held Tuesday at Kessler Funeral Home from to 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service.
