  Stephensville-The funeral for Mrs. Fanny Laird, 90, was conducted at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. Virgil W. Bell of New London. Mrs. Laird was born May 1,1838 in County Antrim, Ireland. She died last Saturday at the home of her son George in Ellington In March 1862 she married Edward Laird and came to this country that year. She has lived on a farm in Ellington since that time, a period of 67 years. Eight children were born unto Mr. and Mrs Laird, five sons and three daughters, she is survived by seven childen and nineteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The survivors are William of North Bend, OR.; Edward of Crandon; James, John and George of Ellington; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Lorenz and Mrs. Dennis Halloran of Ellington. Her husband preceded her in death March 1913 and one daughter Leticia in 1909. Mrs. Laird was an active member of the Congregational church of Stephensville. Prior to the erection of a new church building hers was one of the pioneer homes to be thrown open for service.
