  Robert (Bob) Francis Kersten passed away unexpectedly Thur. Dec. 13, 2012, in Surprise, AZ., at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife Maureen, Surprise, AZ., his children Theodore (Wendy) Menasha, WI., MaryBeth (Dean) Williams, Washougal, WA., Thomas (Virginia) Barneveld, WI., Susan (Tim) Vanden Langenberg, New Franken, WI. Sisters and brother Betty Appleton, Kimberly, WI., Evelyn (Hank) Canterbury, Litchfield, AZ., Jim (Marge), Manitowoc, WI. Brothers and sisters in-law William (Dorothy) Ryan, Phoenix, AZ., Jack (Chris) Ryan, Cedarburg, WI. He is also survived by his grand children, the joys of his life, Zachary and Meghan Kersten, Paytyn and Baylei Williams, Trent Kersten, Maggie and Adam Vanden Langenberg. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Martha Kersten, his sister Joyce Kersten, and a brother in-law Robert (Bob) and niece Patty Appleton. A memorial service will be held in spring to celebrate Bob's life, please watch for future notices. Family and friends will be celebrating Bob's life on Monday, June 17, at St. Mary's Parish, 528 2nd Street in Menasha. Visitation starts at 10 a.m. followed by Mass at 11 a.m. Please wear casual Packer attire or green and gold in memory of Bob's passion for the Green Bay Packers. All are welcome to follow the family to St. Margaret's cemetery in Neenah for military honors and burial at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a contribution to: ARC of Neenah-Menasha (375 Winnebago Ave., Menasha, WI 54952) in Bob's name. Bob was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, class of 1953. He entered the United States Army, where he was a barber and cook, two passions he embodied his entire life. The next years were filled with raising his family and establishing his own barber shop, Captain's Korner. During this time he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Rotary, St. Mary's booster club, and served on St. Mary's Board of Education. He eventually found his fifth career as a realtor with Coldwell Banker Bytof. Bob and Reene celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last summer with their entire family.
