  Herman O. Wheaton, age 88, of Neenah, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009, at Theda Clark Medical Center. Herman was born February 1, 1921, in Kaukauna, to Joseph and Minnie (Trettin) Wheaton. He began working with the Marathon Corp. (American Can, James Rivers) at age 17, and continued his employment with them all of his life. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He enjoyed going up North, fishing and hunting, and tatting crafts. Survivors include his very special friend and former wife, Sandy Hoppe, Neenah; daughters: Debbie (Jim) Nackers, Neenah; Sally Flenz, Kaukauna; and Kelly (Jerry) Steinike, Oshkosh; sons: Joseph (Karen) Wheaton, and Dean Hoks, of Neenah; his grandchildren: Ashley, Sara, Jennifer (Angel), Stephanie, Melissa, Sandra, Valerie, Matthew, Cole, Sabra, Ruth, and Jodi; great-grandchildren: Magdalena, Jacob, Hunter, and Allie; and a brother, Wesley (Ethel) Wheaton, Hilbert. Herman was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Chuck; a daughter, Sabra; two grandsons, Chad and Michael; and a brother, Herbert (Sandy) Wheaton.
