  Chilton, Wisconsin - Robert C. Daul, age 91, of Chilton, went to be with The Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving wife, Myra and his family. Bob was born March 4, 1927 in Freedom, WI, the eldest son of the late John & Verna (Coffee) Daul. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in the Class of 1945. As a 17 year old high school senior, he proudly joined the United States Navy and served his country during the final year of World War II, serving a total of 2 years as a Pharmacist Mate in San Diego, CA and Seattle, WA. Following his service to our country, he joined his parents in rural Chilton where he worked as a cheese maker with the family business. On July 2, 1952, he married the love of his life, Myra Custer. Together they raised 8 children and operated the family dairy farm in rural Chilton. Bob was a school bus driver for Daun's Bus Service, Inc. from 1965 - 2005. He drove a daily bus route as well as driving for many extra curricular activities. In some instances, he drove multiple generations and he truly loved the kids. He had the opportunity to have his own grandchildren on his bus route and for sporting events. Bob was a life long member of the Chilton Council Knights of Columbus and Stockbridge American Legion Post #128 where he had served as Post Commander in 1960, 1963 and 1970. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge. His faith led his life; he served as communion distributor in church and took communion to homes of the sick. He also was a Mass Server and enjoyed honoring the Lord at the Perpetual Adoration Chapel every week in Chilton. Bob and Myra loved to travel, holiday gatherings, gardening, playing Sheepshead with life long friends, and feeding and enjoying the birds around the back yard patio. He always enjoyed "The Family Dog", and there were many over the many years of Bob's life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years: Myra; his children: John of Plymouth, Karen (Rick) Greenlee of Kiel, Thomas (Lynn) Daul of Chilton, Susan (Pete) Bieri of St. Paul, MN, Mike Daul of Green Bay, Dennis Daul of Stockbridge, Julie (Mark) Hintz of Chilton, Robert Jr. (Cory) Daul of Appleton; 15 grandchildren: Pat (Pam) Daul, Nick (Trisha) Daul, Kris (Rachel) Daul, Jessica (Diverson) Daul, Jason & Nick Greenlee, Danielle & Luke Bieri, Ryan & Dana Daul, Matt (Miranda) Hintz, Zack (Kelyann) Hintz, Josh & Sydney Daul; 8 great grandchildren; his sisters: Virginia Bastian, LaVern Van de Wettering; and his brothers: Eugene Daul & Dan (Jennifer) Daul. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents: John & Verna Daul; and 2 brothers-in-law: Ken Bastian & Vetus Van de Wettering. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge with Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm on Monday, March 26, 2018 and on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at church from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. A Knights of Columbus Prayer Service will take place Monday evening at the funeral home at the close of the visitation. Bob's family would like to express gratitude and thanks to the entire St. Paul Elder Care Family in Kaukauna where Bob resided for the last year of his life. They met both his physical and spiritual needs in a caring and compassionate manner. Bob kept his sense of humor up until the very end. He will be loved and missed forever.
