  Daniel James McGinnis, Jr., age 62, died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at his home. Dan was born July 22, 1950 in Appleton, son of Daniel and Dorthea (Schreiter) McGinnis, Sr. Dan was employed with the Appleton Area School District for 33 years on the buildings and grounds department. Dan was an antique car enthusiast and received a plaque for his 1963 Nova in the 2011 Pierce Park Car Show. He was also a musician at heart. Dan loved playing the drums and singing with various groups in the valley. Dan is lovingly survived by his spouse, Michelle McGinnis of 26 years, and their two children, Daniel J. McGinnis, IV; and his significant other, Sarah McMahon, Milwaukee; Christina McGinnis and her significant other, Matt Spanbauer, Oshkosh; and by several other family members and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents. Per Daniel's wishes, no services will be held. A memorial fund is being established in his name. Online condolences may be made at: www.valleyfh.com.
