  Bruce D. Marcks, age 70, died on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, comfortably with family and friends at his side. He was born on March 8, 1945 at St. Elizabeth Hospital to the late Elden and Dorothy (Sasman) Marcks. Bruce graduated from Appleton High School in 1963, then following graduation he served four years in the U.S. Air Force. After the service, he worked at Fox River Paper Co. and from there he went on to work for the state of Wisconsin until he retired in 2005. At both places of work, he found a large number of friends that remained with him to this day. Bruce had an exceedingly kind heart, a gentle spirit, and once you became his friend, you were a friend for life! His smile, warmth, and presence here will be greatly missed by those who love him, until that Blessed-Hope of reuniting again. He is survived by his siblings: Jerry (Carol) Marcks, Ilamae Buman, Alma (Ron) Weber; sister-in-law Ardyce Marcks; and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to him. Bruce was preceded in death by sisters Carol Weber and Adelyn Schoepke; brother David Marcks; brothers-in-law Ken Buman and Richard Weber; and nephew son Jeff Schoepke. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton. The celebration of Bruce's life will be held on Saturday November 7, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at FAT SAMMY'S, 2500 S. Oneida Street, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. Special thanks to Bruce's friends who were ALWAYS there for him: Darryl Ziehm, Tim Shercel, Brian Lesenski, Steve Strelow, Wayne Fuller, David Packard, Troy Quast, and many many others that are too numerous to list.
