  Family History Researcher	William Regenfuss, born 22 October 1859, probably in Washington County, son of Jacob Regenfuss and Elizabeth Rossbach, died on 26 July 1911 at the age of 51 years. On 21 November 1890 he had married Elisabeth Greif, born 07 January 1860, daughter of Joachim Greif and Helena Debus. William is buried in St. Boniface Cemetery, so to is Joachim Greif and Helena Debus. William's family marker stone identifies his wife Elisabeth as born on 07 January 1860 but no death date is given. You can read into this that when the grave marker was positioned, Elisabeth, his wife, was planned to be buried next to him. The grave marker was never updated with the death date of Elisabeth. The Debus family identifies Elisabeth was living with her brother John Greif in Germantown in 1930. They do not know the death date for John nor Elisabeth nor where they lived at the time each died, they assume Germantown. There is no burial registration for either John Greif nor Elisabeth (Greif) Regenfuss at St. Boniface. It seems odd that there is no burial registration at St. Boniface nor burial marker for them at any cemetery in Germantown. Can anyone shed some light here. If Elisabeth is actually buried at St. Boniface, she did not have a burial service conducted at the parish. I read into this she may not be buried there, nor her brother John either, as nothing confirms this to be the case. Donald

William was born 22 October 1859 to the same parents. This information came from St. Boniface Goldenthal, Washington County, Wisconsin church books. The entry for John shows a birth date but no baptism date. For William the baptism date is 30 October 1859. Thank you for the information on the "Regenfuss Brewery" in Kaukauna. The Regenfuss Brewery, "Hotel," Inn in Goldenthal was operated by John's father from the 1840s to the 1880s after which time local hearsay has the family moving north. A picture of the Regenfuss Brewer in Goldendale can be found in the book, Germantown The early Years 1838-1915 on page 57.
