  Harold L. Baerenwald, age 83, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, September 6, 2010. Harold was born on June 28, 1927, in Appleton to the late Arthur and Clara (Herzberg) Baerenwald. He married Donna Kunstman on August 30, 1952, in Appleton; she survives. Harold proudly served his nation in the United States Army in the Panama Canal Zone. He was a machine tender at Kimberly-Clark Corporation in Kimberly, retiring on August 31, 1988, after 25 years of service. Donna and Harold were charter members of Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church. Harold was a member of the Appleton-Fox Valleyaires Barbershop Chorus for over 40 years, was a member of the PALS Program for many years and was a Boy Scout Leader at Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed annual fishing trips to Canada, was well known for his willow furniture, and especially enjoyed camping and traveling with his family. Following his retirement he was a driver for several local automobile dealerships. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Donna; his daughters, Ginger (Mitch) Kobussen, and Karen (Tony) Zachowski; his grandchildren, Keri and Kimberly Kobussen, and Beau and Kaelyn Zachowski; and his sister, Marion Gruenstern. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harold was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Behm; his brother, Allen Baerenwald; his in-laws, Ray and Hilda Kunstman, Sr. and his brother-in-law, Ray Kunstman Jr. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2330 E. Calumet Street, Appleton, with Rev. Gary Nokleberg and Rev. Roger McQuistion officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again directly at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Military Honors will be presented at the church following the services. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Emerald Valley Assisted Living for their loving care.
