  FERDINAND F "FERD" NEMECHEK WaKEENEY - Ferdinand F. "Ferd" Nemechek, 89, WaKeeney, died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004. Mr. Nemechek was born July 14, 1915, in Hill City. He was a farmer. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis. Survivors include his wife, Olinda, of the home; a son, Terry of Rialto, Calif.; two daughters, Judith McCune of Albert and Juanita Abston of Largo, Fla.; three sisters, Helen Lessor and Barbara Parke, both of WaKeeney, and Agatha Denning of Hutchinson; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church, WaKeeney. Burial will be in Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, with military rites by Randall Reid VFW Post 3449 and American Legion, WaKeeney. A wake will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th, WaKeeney 67672. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, in care of the funeral home. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
