  Mrs. Charles Michelson, 85, of 1026 S. 15th St., Manitowoc, died early Sunday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a short illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First German Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. L. H. Koeninger officiating, and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The former Meta Kilgas came to the United States in 1871 with her parents from Germany where she was born Sept. 29, 1867. The family settled at Kaukauna where on Oct. 30, 1912, Miss Kilgas was married to Charles Michelson. The couple lived at Kaukauna two years and then moved to Manitowoc. Mr. Michelson, who was a baggageman for the Chicago and North Western Road for more than 50 years, died in 1941. Mr. Michelson was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church and had been a postmistress at Kaukauna 12 years prior too her marriage. Survivors include a brother, Rudolph Kilgas of Puyallup, Wash., and four nieces and eight nephews. Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after noon Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be moved to the church.
