  Irma Anna Biedenbender, age 95, of Potter, died on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein. She was born September 2, 1916 in the Town of Rantoul, daughter of the late Albert & Bertha (Koffarnus) Hillmann. Having been a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Rantoul, she was confirmed on May 4, 1930, married the love of her life, Eldred Biedenbender, on December 4, 1937, and volunteered countless hours with the Ladies Aid. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1993. Irma will fondly be remembered as a sweet and funny lady who greatly loved her Lord and cherished her church. Irma was a mom in the truest sense of the word. She was a living example of how a Christ centered marriage worked; her love of her husband and devotion to her family was the glue that held everything in harmony. She frequently commented on how blessed she felt having a family full of girls and never took for granted all of the men in her life. Irma proudly talked of the family farm and beamed with joy knowing that the homestead has remained in the family for 5 generations. In her free time, Irma's craftiness was placed on display with the many quilts, doilies, afghans and wedding cakes she created by her own hand. She was a charter member of the Rantoul Sunshine Homemakers Club, and also belonged to several card clubs; Irma loved to play Sheepshead and the opportunities to play Texas Hold 'Em. Each summer, Irma took time with her grandchildren on a little vacation, always looking for the perfect place with a pool. Her spirit and love of life will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Survivors include her daughter: Janet (James) Ohlsen; her grandson: Jay Ohlsen; 5 granddaughters: Jodi Ohlsen, Jerilyn (Charlie) Fochs, Julie (Russell) Anhalt, Janis (Terry) Hruby; Jill (Greg) Giesen; 12 great grandchildren: Sara Winarski, Michelle (Jason) Kleppen, Eberlee (Brian) Mueller, Shauney (Chris) Mueller, Andy (Lisa) Fochs, Kelly Fochs, Amanda (Eric) Bunnell, Kayla Anhalt, Karlee Sweere, Adam Sweere, Jacob Giesen, Lexee Giesen; 4 step great grandchildren: Melissa Hruby, Bryce Mueller, Mason & Kyla Knorr, 9 great-great grandchildren: Cody, Riley, Parker, Kennedy, Easton, Elliana, Claire, Adam, Matthew; and a sister-in-law: Loretta Hillmann. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by he parents; her husband: Eldred; 2 brothers: Oscar Hillmann, Alfred (Lois) Hillmann; and a sister: Selma (Ted) Krueger. Funeral service will be at 11:30 AM on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul with the Rev. Tim Benninghoff officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 AM until 11:15 AM on Thursday, January 5, 2012. Memorials are appreciated in the name of Irma Anna Biedenbender.
