She emigrated to the USA ca. 1900 with some of her children: - Peter (1882-1956) - Leonardus (Leo) (1888-1976) - Maria Petronella (1890- ) (maybe, I'm not sure) - Henricus (Henry) (1891-1943) - Elisabeth (1893-1963) All Sanders children, from Peter Sanders. And: - Jacobus Crommentuijn (1897- ) (maybe, not sure) - Johannes (John) Crommentuijn (1900-1963) All children were born in Meijel. One daughter, Anna, stayed in Holland. She married in 1905. Maybe Wilhelmina emigrated laters. Did she tried to escape from the shame of 2 children with no father??? In the USA John had the surname Sanders, like his siblings. To avoid shame??? ---------------- In 1905 Peter Sanders went on the SS Rijndam, departure March 18, 1905 from Rotterdam, arrival March 29, 1905 in New York. Peter was going to East Dubuque, IO to his cousin Gerard Pluim. But I can't figure out who he was. Maybe this remarkt belonged to the person above him. Together with him, Emericus Slaats fromt Meijel emigrated. He too went to East Dubuque to his cousin Frans Slaats. Emerikus was previous in the US in 1902. The rest of the Sanders family emigrated in 1906 on the SS Noordam. Mother Wilhelmina (line 18 on the list) and her children: Leo, Henri, Liza, Johan and Jacob. All children are named SANDERS on the list. Daughter Anna stayd in Holland (she was already married) and daughter Maria Petronella is not mentioned.
