  Hilda E. Ritschke, age 91, of Fremont, died on Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Hilda is now enjoying eternity with Jesus. She was a great example to others for always being a kind and content woman. Hilda was born on May 16, 1916, in the Town of Wolf River, the son of the late Henry and Paulina (Zander) Bartel. On October 19, 1940, Hilda married Ray Ritschke in East Bloomfield. Together they owned and operated Ritschke's Boat Landing in Orihula from 1933-1978. Ray preceded her in death on April 1, 2000. Hilda was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in New London. She also loved nature and enjoyed fishing and gardening. Hilda is survived by a son, Russell (Kirsti), Omro; three granddaughters: Erica, Jessica and Amy; a sister, Leona Wohlrabe, Weyauwega; two sisters-in-law: Vernice Bartel, Neenah and Edna Bartel, Fremont, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers, including her twin brother, Elmer. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at 11 a.m., at St John Lutheran Church in East Bloomfield. Rev. Gerhard Schapekahm will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Friends may call at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont on Wednesday from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. and on Thursday, at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for St. John Lutheran Church. Hilda's son and daughter-in-law would like to say Thank You to the staff at Omro Care Center and Mercy Medical Center for all of their compassionate care.
