  William Patrick Latimer, age 73, of Appleton, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born in Appleton on May 13, 1941 to the late Richard and Ethel (O'Leary) Latimer. Bill graduated at Appleton High School with the class of 1959. He worked at Ameritech Wisconsin Bell for 32 years, retiring in 1994. Bill enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and trips to the casino. Bill had a heart of gold and was very proud of his Irish heritage. He was a member of the Appleton Moose Lodge. Bill is survived by his daughter Christine Cremer, Little Chute; 2 sons: Michael Latimer, Appleton and Dan (Jen) Latimer, Kaukauna; seven grandchildren: Mitchell Cremer, Maddie Cremer, Amber Latimer, Cody Latimer, Kelsey Latimer, Alexandra Latimer, and Erin Latimer; his sister, Charmaine (David) Griesbach, Appleton; two brothers: Richard Latimer, Alington Heights, IL and Thomas (Connie) Latimer, Appleton; and his special friend, Pat Garvey. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Patrick Latimer. A memorial service will take place at 5 pm on Friday, March 13 at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel with Father Bill Hoffman officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 3 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Paul Home for the compassionate care given to Bill.
